Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes remains on track to start the team’s season-opening matchup against the Denver Broncos on Monday, head coach Andy Reid said.
“Pretty good chance that Patrick will go ahead and start,” Reid said Tuesday, according to Sam McDowell of The Kansas City Star.
Mahomes suffered a torn ACL and LCL in December, but the two-time MVP has recovered well this offseason.
Kansas City lost its final six games of the 2025 season, including Mahomes’ last three appearances, and missed the playoffs for the first time since 2014.
