Seattle Seahawks quarterback Sam Darnold is expected to miss next week’s game against the Arizona Cardinals due to the hip injury he sustained in Wednesday’s season opener, sources told NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.
However, Darnold could reportedly return to the reigning Super Bowl champions in a few weeks.
The 29-year-old underwent an MRI on Thursday.
“We’re still trying to figure out what the best prognosis is, but the hip is intact and it’s good,” head coach Mike Macdonald said on Seattle Sports 710AM, according to John Boyle of Seahawks.com. “It’s more of like a muscle thing. So, that’s good, that’s the good news. Now how long that is, we don’t know yet, but really good news.”
