The San Francisco 49ers dominated the Los Angeles Rams 27-7 in the NFL’s first regular-season game played in Australia.
San Francisco spent a full week in Melbourne, giving the team time to adjust to the time difference and prepare for the historic matchup. The Rams, meanwhile, arrived only about 28 hours before kickoff, and their season began with a disappointing blowout loss.
Quarterback Brock Purdy threw touchdown passes to Mike Evans, Demarcus Robinson and Deebo Samuel as the 49ers controlled the game against their NFC West rival.
Final score: 49ers 27, Rams 7.
