German-American defender Noahkai Banks has committed to representing Germany’s national team over the United States.
Banks, 19, has played for the U.S. at youth level but has filed for a one-time change of association, meaning he will no longer be eligible to play for the U.S.
The defender has established himself as a starter at FC Augsburg, and as one of the most talented young center backs in the German Bundesliga. He had accepted one call-up to a senior USMNT camp last fall, but declined to commit his future to the U.S. ahead of the 2026 World Cup.
