The Pittsburgh Steelers are trading standout cornerback Joey Porter Jr. to the Dallas Cowboys, sources told The Ringer’s Tom Pelissero.
Dallas is sending a 2028 second-round pick and a 2027 sixth-round selection to Pittsburgh in exchange for Porter, a source told Yahoo Sports’ Jori Epstein.
Porter was inactive in each of the Steelers’ first three games and had already been ruled out for Pittsburgh’s contest against the Cleveland Browns on Thursday due to a back injury and conditioning. The 26-year-old’s contract situation also impacted his availability; Porter said he wasn’t sure about playing without a new deal earlier this season.
