The New York Knicks raised their 2026 NBA championship banner at Madison Square Garden on Thursday ahead of their season opener against the Philadelphia 76ers. It’s the Knicks’ first banner-raising ceremony since they last won the title in 1973.
The Knicks also hung an NBA Cup banner a few hours before the game after initially deciding not to. The previous two winners of the NBA in-season tournament each commemorated their victory with a banner.
