Oklahoma City Thunder center Chet Holmgren is expected to miss 8-to-10 weeks after undergoing a procedure to repair a patellar tendon tear in his right knee, the team announced.
Holmgren complained of discomfort in his knee Sunday and underwent a biological treatment Friday following consultations with specialists.
The 24-year-old joins a growing list of significant injury absences for Oklahoma City, which was already without Jalen Williams and Cason Wallace for an indefinite period due to a fractured leg and torn shoulder labrum, respectively. The two suffered their injuries in a game against the Los Angeles Clippers on Oct. 25 – the same day Holmgren first experienced knee discomfort.
