Alvin Kamara Moves Up With Travis Etienne Jr. on IR
The biggest development for New Orleans entering Week 4 comes at running back.
The Saints officially placed Travis Etienne Jr. on injured reserve, removing him from the available backfield for the Falcons game.
That leaves Alvin Kamara positioned for a larger role, with Kendre Miller and CJ Donaldson providing additional depth.
New Orleans also signed running back Ulysses Bentley IV to its practice squad as part of Thursday’s roster moves.
Kamara could therefore be one of the most important players to watch against Atlanta.

Saints Injury Report vs. Falcons
New Orleans also has several injury situations worth monitoring before Monday night.
The Saints listed nine players on their Thursday injury report ahead of Week 4.
The final injury designations will be particularly important because the Saints have several players on their depth chart dealing with injuries as preparations continue.
Tyler Shough Remains Saints Starting Quarterback
Another key position to watch is quarterback, where Tyler Shough remains listed first on the Saints’ depth chart.
Shough is followed by Spencer Rattler and Zach Wilson, giving New Orleans three quarterbacks on its current depth chart.
The passing game could play a major role against Atlanta. Through three games, New Orleans was averaging 281.3 passing yards per game, third-best in the NFL, while Atlanta was allowing 263 passing yards per game.
Saints vs. Falcons Week 4 Matchup
Matchup: Atlanta Falcons vs. New Orleans Saints
Date: Monday, October 5, 2026
Kickoff: 8:15 p.m. ET / 7:15 p.m. CT
Location: Caesars Superdome, New Orleans, Louisiana
TV: ESPN; WDSU 6 locally

The game also represents New Orleans’ first NFC South matchup of the 2026 season.
Atlanta swept the Saints during the 2025 season, while New Orleans enters Monday’s matchup trailing the all-time regular-season series 57-56. A Saints victory would therefore even the regular-season rivalry at 57 wins apiece.
What to Watch From the Saints Depth Chart
The biggest storyline is the Saints’ reshuffled running back rotation following Etienne’s move to injured reserve.
Kamara now has an opportunity to take on an expanded role, while Miller and Donaldson provide depth behind him.
Meanwhile, Shough and a passing attack featuring Chris Olave, Devaughn Vele, Barion Brown and Juwan Johnson will face an Atlanta defense that has been much stronger against the run than the pass through the opening three weeks.
With both teams sitting at 1-2, Monday night’s Saints-Falcons rivalry game could have immediate implications for the early 2026 NFC South standings.
