The New Orleans Saints are expected to hire Philadelphia Eagles offensive coordinator Kellen Moore as their next head coach, sources told ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
Moore cannot officially be named head coach until after the Eagles play in Super Bowl LIX due to the pre-Super Bowl no-contact period rules. The Saints are proceeding carefully to try and avoid tampering charges and will wait until after the Eagles play in Sunday’s championship game before working to finalize a contract, Schefter reports.
Moore reportedly emerged as the team’s top choice after interviewing with New Orleans twice in January. He spoke with Saints general manager Mickey Loomis in Philadelphia recently and told reporters earlier this week that it was a “great” experience, according to Schefter.
