Los Angeles Chargers offensive tackle Rashawn Slater will miss the 2025 season after sustaining a torn patellar tendon during Thursday’s practice, the team announced.
The 26-year-old left practice on a cart, spurring concerns about a potential major injury. Teammates came up to hug him before he headed to the locker room.
Slater signed a four-year, $114-million extension this offseason with $92 million guaranteed. His $28.5-million average annual salary is the highest for an offensive lineman in NFL history.
