Dallas Mavericks star Anthony Davis will not return from a calf injury until principal team owner Patrick Dumont gives him the green light to do so, sources told ESPN’s Tim MacMahon.
Davis has missed six consecutive games due to the ailment. He’s expected to sit out once again when the Mavericks welcome the Phoenix Suns to the American Airlines Center on Wednesday, according to MacMahon.
Dumont has requested medical data on Davis’ left calf strain to determine if the 10-time All-Star is at risk of aggravating the injury. Concerns are that Davis could potentially suffer a more serious injury if he returns before the existing strain is fully healed.
