Indiana came out victorious in a battle of undefeated heavyweights Saturday, defeating Ohio State 13-10 to win the Big Ten championship.
The Hoosiers found themselves trailing until Fernando Mendoza’s 17-yard touchdown pass in the third quarter put them ahead for good. Mendoza would also make a pivotal 33-yard completion with just over two minutes remaining to leave Ohio State without enough time to come back.
This was Indiana’s first victory against Ohio State since 1988, ending a 30-game winning streak for the Buckeyes.
