Ja Morant will see out the rest of the season with the Memphis Grizzlies.
Though Morant received some consideration ahead of Thursday’s 3 p.m. trade deadline, no team was willing to put forth a serious offer for the two-time All-Star, sources told Shams Charania of ESPN.
The Miami Heat and Sacramento Kings were among the teams that reportedly showed interest in Morant in January. Memphis was said to be seeking a combination of young players and draft picks in return. However, the Heat ultimately chose not to pursue Morant for several reasons, a source told Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald, and the Kings’ only trade was a three-team deal last week that brought De’Andre Hunter to Sacramento.
