Dan Girardi announces retirement

Former Tampa Bay Lightning defenseman Dan Girardi announced his retirement today after 13 NHL seasons, including two with the Bolts.

Nothing but respect for Dan Girardi as he announces his retirement. These guys get paid big $$, but it takes a lot of guts and heart to put your body in front of countless pucks flying at 90+ MPH to block a shot. He did it hundreds of times. He was a great Ranger. #LGR
