Ndamukong Suh resigns with Bucs
Ndamukong Suh doesn’t have to hire movers this spring.

The veteran defensive tackle is staying in Tampa, agreeing to a one-year deal worth $8 million, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport and NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo reported.

Suh was part of the league’s No. 1 rushing defense in 2019, and with Tom Brady’s arrival, the Buccaneers’ approach has suddenly shifted in dramatic fashion. Much like NBA teams are pressed to go all in when LeBron James is on their roster, the Bucs are expected to do the same, and retaining a veteran who is still effective at plugging gaps and taking on multiple blockers fits that bill.

An $8 million commitment over just one season is nothing for a team now facing a two-year window to make things happen. Suh will get to return to play for defensive coordinator Todd Bowles, who got the most out of his rising defense in the second half of 2019, and he won’t have to worry about finding a new place to live. Sweet deal.

Former Saints S Vonn Bell has a new home, agreeing on a 3-year deal with the Bengals

Bell has enjoyed a standout career with the New Orleans Saints, and he’ll now look to upgrade the safety position in Cincinnati, which also could lead to Shawn Williams playing more linebacker this year, so this move could wind up upgrading two positions.

Former New York Jets wide receiver Robby Anderson is signing a two-year, $20 million deal with the Carolina Panthers, a source told ESPN’s Adam Schefter on Tuesday.

The deal includes $12 million in the first year of the contract, the source told Schefter.

Anderson, 26, got off to a slow start for the Jets in 2019, but he picked it up in late November and finished with 52 receptions for 779 yards and two touchdowns. He averaged 15.0 yards per catch, 20th among qualifying receivers.

Anderson becomes the latest former Temple player to reunite with first-year coach Matt Rhule in Carolina, joining veteran linebacker Tahir Whitehead and XFL star QB P.J. Walker.

Marc Cuban wants NBA to resume in May
The NBA has been suspended indefinitely amid concern for the coronavirus, but Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban is optimistic about a return within a couple of months.

“Hopefully by the middle of May, we’re starting to get back to normal and the NBA is playing games,” Cuban said Monday, per Mike Leslie of WFAA. “Maybe not with fans, but we’re playing it because sports plays such an important role. You know, people want something to cheer for, people want something to rally around, people want something to be excited about.”

Though he noted the uncertainty, Cuban predicted the league will be back before June.

I think this is a really good deal getting a Dominic ensue on a one year deal to return to the Buccaneers hangs a really good deal for him last year, he spent 41 combined tackles 22 solo two and a half sacks or passes defend it. I think there’s a pretty good deal for them. You know, it’s a one year $8 million deal. So I think it’s a really good deal for them. Anytime you can get a guy like that, who used to be good, who’s fallen a little bit since that, but anytime you can get a guy like on a one year deal, I’ll prove it type of deal. I mean, you don’t really lose much, especially when you can get a guy like on a one year $8 million deal.

I don’t think so just yet because I think it’s too early. I think they also needed to make other spice modes. I mean, possibly if they sign Antonio brown then they will be more like the Lakers. But I would not think so yet because I still think they gotta make other moves. But I mean, you never know there’s still time between now and training camp. So if they make more moves right now, I would have to say no, but if they make other moves, potentially, they can be by September.

Speaking about having a be Antonio brown into the box. Do you think they need them because They have Mike Evans and Godwin Do you think they need a beach just to have the cherry on top?

Caillou Borden
No, I don’t think they need them. I don’t think they need them. I just think that like, like you actually they want to be a Laker so I think they would need to make another splash into it doesn’t necessarily have to be a beat because they have Goodwin they have oj Howard. They have Mike Evans, but always the more than, but I don’t think they really need them. But I mean, if he wants to play with them, I mean him and Tom Brady’s kept a good relationship. So if they want that, then the possibility

I think it’s gonna be much improved. They got Shaquille Barrett and Todd Bowles, I think it’s gonna come down to their defenses here. But I think their defense can improve as it goes, if they like focus on the draft, bring a suit back, Barrett improves, he probably not gonna have 19 knapsacks. But like if he can have somewhere close to that and they can get some of the players in the secondary, and they can just continue to develop they made the playoffs in 2007. So they continue to develop that side of the ball. I think they should be fine offensive with Tom Brady new weapons that they have. So they can continue to develop on that side of the ball. They should focus on that in the draft and this coming up in the draft so they can focus on that they should be fine.

Speaking about the draft, the Buccaneers are in Liverpool, this up there in the 14th spot draft spot. They’re projected to get aged Bonanza he’s an edge from Iowa. Do you think Tampa should strengthen more in the defense and like strengthen that 14th pick for a defensive player or or you don’t think it matters?

Caillou Borden
Yeah, I agree. I think they should strengthen their defense because you can still find skill position receivers or even even if you want to receive because they’re pre loaded. Even if you want to get like an offensive line I still think they can address that a little bit. Even if you want to get that you can adjust that later and around there a lot of quality or skill position players said they addressed that late in the draft for for a big guy like a first round talent in the fourth round. How do you see this Falcons team?

Caillou Borden
I like their offerings. I’ve always liked the FAMAS offers for them. I love the Tigers signing, because it’s it’s a one year prove it deal. So I think it’s really good for him. I mean, obviously went to school back in Georgia is gonna be very motivating for fans. So I think him getting caught up, he’s gonna have a chance to prove it. I mean, last year, even in a down year, he almost at 1000 yards last year, so I think it’s going to be approved and he’s still young enough. He’s 25 he’s gonna have something to prove. I mean, he went to Georgia, so he’s gonna have something improved down there playing in front of the fans, so there’s gonna be a lot of his buddies there. So I think that’s going to be great for him. Because having a player with something to prove is always great for the team. I was going to use it to help the team. And I think their offerings is going to be great, but I think it’s going to come down to their defense. They don’t have Vic Beasley no more. So I think a lot of it last year. They were very injured last year at defense, but I think a lot of it’s going to be about what they do on defense man quick came from Seattle, some of that magic wiped off the defense record and now he’s a coach in Atlanta. I think some of that magic definitely thing so it’s gonna be tough for them to stay healthy what they do on defense, because last year they put up a lot of points. Julio Jones, they just couldn’t really stop anyone in defense. And that’s in the second half when they were out.

I think I think for him it just it just gives them he didn’t he wasn’t gonna live up to the hype but it gives them another receiver to go along with Julio Jones and I don’t really have a problem with their offering their offers is gonna be fine with Matt Ryan throwing the ball everyone puts a point senshi in that dome, the South team, especially the saints and a Falcons do these put a points it just for the most part, the saints are really got very defensive last couple years because prior to that the saints under the ROB Ryan years, they were terrible defensively. I just think that the Falcons Falcons are gonna have to like focus on really hammering home to draft and using most of their picks in the draft for for the defense sudden ball

I thought Dan Quinn was in the hot seat last year, while especially out of Falcons were able to finish the year. I didn’t feel like Arthur blank their their owner would bring him back. But I mean, he even wanted they say he’s one of the nicest owners. So I mean, I didn’t think he would bring him back this year. So probably this year. I thought last year he would be on the ice but probably this year. I mean, if they throw it again this year, possibly he’s on it again this year. But I mean, I said he was in the hot seat last year and he was able to make it through

with these weapons and hopefully these in defense. I hope Dan coins can stay but if he does if he can’t play these things together. That could be an issue. Now do you think this Todd Gurley will be the 2018 girlie or do you think More of the same of 2019

I think it’s all going to depend on all holidays knees responding, I think that the the Rams that have a favorite data and push them last year they could have pushed him and made his knee worse last year, but they didn’t push him. So I think it’s gonna depend a lot for his health. So if he’s healthy, I think he can return back to 2018. Todd Gurley. I mean, he’s still young enough to return to that kind of performance. But I mean, it’s all gonna depend upon itself.

I don’t think it’s a big deal. I think for the Bengals. It’s more about getting players for their coats. I don’t think it’s like a big deal for them. It’s a solid deal. It’s a it’s a thing. It’s a two year deal. It’s a solid safety deal, but I don’t like think it’s like a big deal.

something to definitely look at with wit. With Bell he has. He has enjoyed a standout career with the New Orleans Saints. I think it’s I think it’s very solid, but um, I don’t think and like it’s still like a huge enormous deal but like it’s very sad. He’s an every down player when he’s healthy and still 19 he said Cory Hi, he nine tacklers and you’re 13 days late. I think it’s very solid for the Bengals. Because when you’re at the bottom, like you need players to work your way up. I definitely think that’s a very solid deal and the fact that they I don’t think they overpaid for him. So I think the fact that they didn’t overpay for him and you don’t use your capital The right way, especially when you’re a team that needs a bunch of different players and a bunch of different positions. I think it’s a solid deal.

New York Jets this high end receiver Robbie Anderson for a two year 20 a month for 100 million dollars. I think was a good pickup for the Panthers anytime you can get him for a two year deal. I think he’s never really shown flashes isn’t that one. It’s a $12 million deal in the first year to contract. And for the Jets, this means that the Jets never really wanted them because if they wanted him they could have gave them this amount of money two years 12 and now do I think they if they wanted them they could have gave them that but for the Jets I mean if they don’t get Sam Darnell weapons in the draft, then I’m gonna be a little while concerned. But losing Robbie Anson is not a big deal. But if you don’t, if you don’t help Sam Donal in a draft then I’m gonna start to be concerned about what what type of assets that they’re putting around now Sam Darnell.

Yeah, the rumor has it to the Jets. My good Jerry Judy at the 11th pick. Do you think that’d be a good move?

Caillou Borden
Yeah, I think it’s fine. If the Jets lost Robin Hanson, which they did. I just think that they will have to drop the receiver a couple receivers. That definitely helps him.

Another thing to definitely look at the end. NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell says the NFL Draft will be still on April 23 through the 25th. A lot of NFL So gyms are saying that they want to put your back because and I have been able to see players are in pro days or season physicals. Do you think it should remain in place?

Caillou Borden
I think it’s definitely survey in place. I definitely saw possibility. Also broadcast studio event. I mean you have a broadcast studio event. And then you can have players miked up in different cities where they live. Just want to keep as safe as possible in this time in this country. So you could definitely have a broadcast studio, you get their plays reaction to like FaceTime and your social media pages, the network, Skype phone, whatever, it could be a definitely a great television vehicle. You can be broadcasting and screaming on YouTube, because there’s some kind of cool things with that.

Yeah, I think ESPN has the rights to the NFL Draft, don’t they?

Yeah, ESPN has it the NFL Network and Fox just got a couple years ago. So

they should definitely broadcast it live. Definitely put on YouTube and Facebook. People that don’t have you know, cable access. By Do you think Cuz, see, that’s the thing. I mean, how many players out there that need to be reviewed? Obviously two is one of them. But you think like a player like two will be fine?

Caillou Borden
No, I think he’s gonna be fine. I think they have enough tape on the players. I think obviously seeing more tape is always going to enhance your ability to more data, the more evidence the better. I think in a situation I think NFL gyms, they have enough evidence they’ve seen too enough games. I mean, you can just go back to old traditional scouting, yeah, you want to see him in person. But I mean, you have highlights you’ve been in the games. If you’re scouting, know what to do when you’ve been in a games and kind of have a feel for players. So I definitely think that it’s a little overblown that they say they don’t have enough time to like study in the player.

I think it’s good because the Giants I mean that’s the Johnson jets when they were good they had like linebackers like David Harris in the middle of field. So I definitely think that is a good move for them. They have seen the upgrade that position with some speed. The division is gonna be very open this year, so they definitely need to look to upgrade that defense.

The Jets have a crowded linebacker room after resigning. nevel Hewitt and James burgers Jr. They already have CJ Mosley and Avery Williamson under contract along with second year. lb Blake Cashman the latter three are recovering from season ending surgery so adding insurance was important.

Yeah, I definitely agree because when CJ Mosley got her we can see their defense with him and without him so I agree.

Definitely to to look at who do you think is winning in like the free agency race right now?

Caillou Borden
Um, if I had to choose, I would probably go I would probably go Cardinals buccaneers. I’ve liked what the Colts have done. I like what the Eagles have done getting Malcolm Jenkins. So I would definitely go with those four teams. The biggest one is obviously going to be the Buccaneers. But shortly right after our goal at the Colonel’s getting Kyler Murray deonte Hopkins Christian Kurt that they already have. They have Isabel Stowe there, that Kliff Kingsbury, they’re gonna they’re gonna score a lot of points, they’re gonna obviously dress their defense in the draft and an offensive line but they’re in there for Jared doesn’t have to be the number one now. He could possibly be the number two and he’s going to go to all fame. They could be the number two and have overseer like Hopkins. I think gonna be great they’re gonna score a lot of points. They’re gonna be way over a top eight offensive team in football column or it’s gonna be great for fantasy. I think they’re going to score a lot of points.

I think it’s good because the Jets need receivers so they’re gonna drop receivers. They also I mean, he’s like a third or fourth receiver so the Jets are gonna need receivers. I mean, it just isn’t the receivers So obviously helping up position in free agency and also through the draft and getting some guys that you know teams miss out on I think that’s gonna be important for them.

And maybe I mean Aaron Rodgers is still 36 but if there’s a quarterback like Jordan love if he falls to Green Bay, my best case scenario for Green Bay will be to take that quarterback and maybe you could have a situation how brett farr Rogers so he could sit for three years and yeah,

speaking about Jordan love Kylo seems like he’s the wildcard in this draft because he could go high and or he could go very low. What do you think will happen to him?

Caillou Borden
I think he’s gonna Go high because the quarterback pressure of the draft will definitely get him to go high. But if he can fall Green Bay and I can have like a Rogers and brett farr situation. I would definitely love that although I would love to drop the wide receiver if he’s not there we’re going to drop the wide receiver. But if he’s still there for Green Bay, and he could sit for a couple years binary priors, I would have no problem with that for three years. And then if he if he grows faster than we think you could always create a quarterback and then we could get a lot of value back for him so and I’ll keep an eye on that.

Yes, a another quarterback in limbo right now who who got released yesterday was Cam Newton and Caillou available where do you think he should go?

Caillou Borden
I’m the cam No, this thing is Mark. It’s not really that great. I mean, obviously going to target to definitely help but the target is going to drop the quarterback. I mean, if he will, I don’t think that he’s going to be a backup here means to big mundane be like a backup. And I think that Cameron wants to play you’re coming off an injury I’ll say he is gonna be over 30 so i mean i think he’s over dirty so he he aged a bit so and also you’re coming up an injury so you’re gonna have to prove to teams that you’re gonna have to prove to teams that you can play so I don’t think they’re gonna want to be a backup. Definitely a team like the Chargers maybe he’s a bridge guy to the next quarterback and that guy is not ready. So that possibility targets

I would kind of want to prove to teams essentially you know, they essentially when you want when you would assume on 2015 so if outcome of injury I would want to prove to teams, but if he has to sit by Big Bend for a year and they guarantee him starting with the steers ceci wood, Mike Thomas never had a losing season and he went in with Devin Hodges and Mason Rudolph That was a remarkable run cram, because I didn’t think that it would be able to happen. So I mean, if he has to buy a big bag for one year, and the steel is a big arm and body, I think it might work. And what’s the market?

I think the market bias should still be I for jameis Winston. I mean, last year he threw he joined the 3030 Club. Both teams in the game in threes called one to 21 touchdowns in 88 interceptions. So I think the market bias should still be high for him. I mean, he’s young, I mean, we know what he is he’s turnover Pro. I mean, like a four touchdown guy and a 202nd guy so I think the mark advice for him I think him you know him learning him learning maybe he goes to New England to cut out some extension maybe like learned like a new like a new system. Maybe he sits for a year get some like, cuz he’s always been great even when he was in college before seat. So he’s never really had that opportunity to sit and possibly learn. They still very talented him he’s 26 he threw for 5000 yards last year so he still very talented he’s just got to cut down some of those picks if he’s able to cut down some of careless pick of his I mean maybe you can go somewhere and they sit for a year and he comes you know back the following year and maybe he learns from it

I think it’s I think by the NBA I get more concerned by the day that they’re not going to be regular season games because essentially what happened with Cardone towns and prayers to his family. I mean, his mother is in a coma. So I get more concerned that by the day that even though I’m hopeful they’re gonna be NBA games and it’s fluid. I Get more concerned that there won’t be because you still need to play five to six games. You’re not going there to skip there plus anyway, I suggest that I think you’re going to get a bad product and the low players themselves in in game shape. There’s nothing like being on the court, no matter how much you do on the bike, I get more concerned, but by the day that they’re going to have to cancel the season. I mean, they don’t want to, they would try to play without fans. And I’m very hopeful that that won’t be the situation, but I don’t think they they returned by May. It’s very fluid, things can change. But I think the earliest date possible return is by June because as more players get it and more players get in a situation where current knees down. I don’t think that it’s probably going to be safe to return by May. I think they probably reevaluate. So I think a lot is going to depend where individual states are. Florida doesn’t have the amount of cases that the other cities have bought. Like you saw it, the NFL, their facilities are shut down. So I think a lot of it’s gonna have to be Fortunately, without fans a lot can change between now and April 11. But essentially what the projections and they’re just projections but especially with the projections are the number coronavirus continues to like increase in like New York and California I think those places out of ones and causes as to the largest states the NBA is not going to take any chances. With that I think they’re just gonna have to like play without fans, even though it would kind of suck because fans are really important. Yes, I was very excited as a Laker fan. I mean, it’s It was in an open in 1999 it’s been our building saints the Clippers have never made a conference championship in history. The Clippers Lakers have 16 banners and as a Laker fan, I was pretty excited when I saw construction. They haven’t started to construction. I mean he just he’s gonna buy it and they got to do a low budget environment does before the construction goes up and hopefully in three or four years the Clippers is definitely our Staples Center and the building can definitely go back to being the Lakers because I get tired of the Lakers bears happen to be covered during clipper games.
