Yeah I thought well we’ve been hearing for the last several weeks receiver receiver receiver that was amazed to the Super Bowl Championship and then they just lost a receiver to the saints and so they’re gonna be city lamb or Jerry Judy, but it was neither they went defensive tackle and flannels, you know, Jerry Judy went where I go and I was with the Broncos. And here’s an interesting lesson about boys getting some help for Amari Cooper, you know, Cooper to do a whole lot more free him up and take some pressure off. And for me I’ve been hearing like these past couple hours to I was going to Miami. Durability wasn’t an issue. What are your first thoughts?

Well, the past several weeks, we have been led to believe that Miami really wasn’t that high on to a toggle Viola and it was believed it was more of a lean towards Justin Herbert. However, it was until several hours ago where the the Tour de Miami talk began to really get stronger and it was led led by That’s where he would land Honestly, I thought that he brought it up with the Chargers, I thought we would be a better fit for him. I thought that he’d have a better situation, you know, as far as weapons and whatnot, that he would have Miami, but it looks like after all, he is headed to Miami and he’s gonna be the Christians savior of the franchise to hopefully resurrected the glory days, but to be honest, we in order to do that, they’re gonna have to get a lot of help for

No, actually, I was not very surprised. I thought the mind dolphins. A lot of times teams leaked information. They catch people off guard. I thought it was too all along. I thought it was two all along because the dolphins really 23 picks in the next two years. I thought they were going to go with two all along. I thought though, the harbor news is just smokescreen trying to catch teams off guard. So to make sure that teams don’t doubt in the head, but I thought it was gonna be true all along.

Herbert going to sixth spot, Justin. Obviously, you know, that was a big possibility where Herbert would have gone. There were no trades, either. There was no trades between one and 12. Is that good spot for Herbert?
Justin Riley
Well, I think so. And I think people including sharks, fans, definitely. Our own Ty Turner are pretty excited that that’s where he be, he’ll be a landing. I think he’s a very smart kid. Tremendous upside. gifted athletically. I mean, he’s Six, five. Just so smart. And I just think that he’s gonna be a guy’s gonna stick around for a while. I’m not really sure if he’s going to play right away, maybe he’s gonna be asked to kind of step back and be groomed. tyrod Taylor, and then kind of come in we supposed to, but if he’s asked to come on the field right away, then he’s in a good situation. He’s got some good talent around him. And I think that it’s a good fit. You know, he’s a West Coast guy. He’s based in Pac 12 country, so he’s familiar. He’s comfortable. I thought it was very expected on the first defensive player drafted in 2020 was Jason 2019. Nick bosa 2018 Denzel ward. 2016 Joey boasts I wasn’t really surprised. Washington really needed to adjust Defense I wasn’t really surprised. And Joe burrow in 2019 76% completion overall 79% against man first 77 against zone 73 into Blitz 77 against standard rush 72 one presses 79 against the pocket 81 between the numbers 58% on deep route 78% when traveling which is all first that wasn’t a surprise hometown kid simple. was surprised by that.

well I expected him to go I had that my mock draft however the teams didn’t align but Henry Rose was selected first overall as far as the receiver group and that wow the Alabama group and he’s an excellent kid. I tremendous speed, great tools, great route running has great hands. If you go back and you look at the tape at Alabama he had rarely Any drops or maybe one or two, and majority of the touches he had he believed he had 98 recessions during his career Alabama and 24 of those touches were touchdowns. So he’s a guy who is a playmaker. He’s not a deep threat. He’s a guy who’s gonna take off and take it to the house. He’s gonna catch a slant and just abuse coverage and take a yard. So he’s a very exciting player. He’s somebody that that Gruden really likes or advisor Gruden likes and that’s speed and that’s what the Raiders need and the Raiders need a playmaker right now to take pressure off with Josh Jacobs. I think it’s pretty exciting that the former teammates are gonna be reunited and I’m really excited to see that those two guys and what they’re gonna be able to do against the defense’s and AFC and it’s gonna be really dependent on how good it’s gonna be on the quarterback situation. So that’s one thing to watch there but God Alabama boys are reuniting Like I said, rugs first off the board was to be expected for me.

I wasn’t really surprised by Roz going to the Raiders obviously, the AFC West is making a lot of noise to keep up with facts in the homes of the Broncos went with Jerry Judy. The Raiders went what a penny rugs so it’s just for me it’s more about keeping up with AFC West Jerry Judy and routes in the last two years on go route 10 touchdowns on slant six on post three screens and Quake three out one and corner one. So I mean Henry rose average 25.3 yards per catch behind the line of scrimmage that level of power five players so nobody surprised. I mean, they’re keeping up with the chiefs. I mean, great offenses, they need to be able to score points in that division.

That’s what everybody’s been talking about until, you know, we’re tired of it and we are taught Oh, by the way, so, but having a good offensive line is where it starts. You gotta protect your investment here. A lot of people thought that Jackson may be a reach here because he just so raw, and he has a lot he needs to work on but he has a tremendous upside. I think there’s some holes that need to refill. But this was the last of the second to third tier offensive line for a while. I think it’s good. You obviously have to protect to watch. So you had to do whatever you can to do that. So I think that this is definitely a need that they need itself.

Of course, you know that they traded unions right to the Cardinals who really took off well finish the season strong, that needs someone in the backfield, who’s going to be able to take pressure off the two and add another weapon for him. So in the second round, we gotta keep a watch on the dolphins to see what the direction they go, maybe JK Dobbins maybe cam Akers, you know, Florida boys, so that would be a good fit there.

I mean, I don’t expect to what to start this season. I think I’ve been hearing a lot, you know that he’ll be sitting at the bench. Caillou, do you expect them to start this year? Or do you think he’ll just sit out?
Caillou Borden
We know what rice is Patrick is and he’s been on eight teams, I don’t expect them to start right away, even though he’s been medically cleared. There’s a lot of good medical reports that came out. Often an independent doctor in Tennessee really cleared him to say, for anybody that’s had a hip injury in the past five years. In the past, you know, five months, you know, you say, Look, they’re really well, so I don’t expect them to start right away. But if the dolphins get off to a strong start, the fans are going to call for tour. I don’t expect them to win that game. Even though the difference to see is strong. If you have five and 11. I don’t expect them to start right away. But if they’re struggling by the middle of the season, there definitely gonna be a lot of calls for him to be out there. Especially if he saw But I do not expect them to start right away and I don’t think it’d be wise for them to start in week one.

It’s a it’s a fit. It’s a perfect marriage is what Denver wanted. They need a big time receiver. JOHN Elway made a great decision finally in the draft and he got for for his young quarterback. Yeah, exactly about time because I didn’t really questioning his decision making the past few years, especially a quarterback and you know, other positions. However, he he wins the day right now in the first round. It’s a dynamic receiver. It’s a guy that can just change the flow of a game. Great route runner course you know, that’s been beaten into us nonstop. Great Hans loses. He’s very elusive. He can break ankles. He time he can be physical at times too. I know he’s got a small frame that’s one knocks against him. And I think some coaches probably wish he wouldn’t be too physical because of that. But you got like his fire y’all like his passion, his heart and great sit there for Denver. They took care of a great a great need.

No, but he doesn’t have as many years in front of him as he as he has behind it. So you really have to start things in the future because you can’t get in a situation again, where if he gets hurt, what are you going to do? Who who are you confident behind him is going to be able to take over. So you really do need to have a succession plan. And this is the time you got to start putting that into place. And you know, picking Jordan law wouldn’t be a bad idea. And letting them being groomed by one of the best ever play the game worked out the negatives that are glaring, like some of his some of his decision making. Clean that up a little bit and just take the time just to really learn and be coached.

I think it is a possibility just because they need a succession plan just as Green Bay Green Bay needs one they really need one a lot more. Because it’s time The time is now. Drew Brees is is agreed to one more year and be honest with you. I don’t know if he’s gonna agree to another one. So you gotta have something employees and we don’t really know if anyone who’s behind him is going to be the guy so they got to start figuring things out and the fast way.

And one of the things I really like about well, several things like about Jalen hertz, is that he’s a phenomenal leader. He’s a hard worker, he’s always looking to get better. If he fails. He uses that as motivation. It makes it do about it. But one of the things I really liked about Jalen is when he steps in the field regardless of the circumstances. You feel like that his team has a chance and that they’re going to win he just a guy that’s a winner and he’s going to get it done and he did that several times. Even though it may be a reach to some people’s eyes is throw Louis as linebacker out of Alabama. And he brings that tenacity that they’re looking for he fits the mold of a Baltimore defense. He’s a physical specimen, six foot five, incredible strength and power. He’s a guy that can make people look silly. While we’re like about him, his his hand usage, he can jab a guy and basically hold them at arm’s length and he basically will keep them at bay for as long as he needs them that way. And that’s the only form of sports if we really had And right now, when they’re in a desperate time, people were just reaching out for something that just even is remotely normal. And to have this event going on, it gives it gives us that. Yeah, it’s modified. It’s been altered as a different kind of way than we’re accustomed to. But it gives us something and like Kylie Kylie just said, you know, you’re seeing them experience their their lives being changed and they’re they’re also doing it with their families away from all the hoopla and the distractions and the camaraderie of it. I, they’re, they’re at home, they’re with their families is a more intimate setting and it means more and then down the road. When they’re looking back, it’s gonna be something that really means a lot to them. And it’s not just necessarily from a financial standpoint, yeah, that makes a difference. But they’re able to say let’s share this moment with their family, not the press, not the media, not a bunch of analysts or craziness there at home. That’s a pretty big deal.

Also something that we don’t get to see often that was under the radar to these general managers really at home with their kids it was you know, something that you don’t get a chance to see often to see an extra loan for them as well could they really work long hours and long days and 20 hour days, so it’s really good to like get a chance to see some of that as well and see see some of their personal and I know everyone made a joke with Kliff, Kingsbury and that house that he has, I don’t know if he I saw I saw Rog Dwayne at our bathroom roll. I thought that was really funny. The way the draft flush but yeah, just seeing those comments and seeing the process you know, lifted dreams and really, you know, change their lives, or wherever situation they go to making the most of it and working hard and seeing their families. great time just glad that we have something of substance sports was on TV right now to watch and be involved with you know other than the last dance of course. And then the SEC did what expected them to do and they dominated the first round. I can’t without looking they’ll tell you how many draft picks the SEC had chemo this but just another outstanding show of just how talented this conference and how deep this conference is and doesn’t look like it’s going away anytime soon. Very happy for through a toggle Viola. And he was able to be selected high as as initially projected. And that the water cooler talk and the gossip around and didn’t affect the decision making of coaches in the gym. I really glad to see that the teams like New York and the jets and giants and Cleveland address where they needed to the most and that was offensive line. I yeah, there were some head scratchers, but you always are going to get that with the NFL Draft. It’s just you know, part of the fun of it. But just a good time. Really excited to see what day two holes I think day two will be as exciting as day one because there’s just so much talent left on the board, but enjoyed it and glad to be a part of this.
