Even though the current NBA season is still technically suspended due to the coronavirus pandemic, its return this year seems less and less likely with each passing day.
Team executives are starting to feel the pressure, frustrated with the lack of information from the league and pushing for an outright cancellation of the season so everyone can focus on safely resuming play next season.
Brett Favre: Aaron Rodgers feels like the odd man out
Rodgers spoke to his Green Bay predecessor, Brett Favre, and Favre then made multiple radio appearances on Wednesday. His comments to Rich Eisen were noted here; Favre also did a regular spot on SiriusXM NFL Radio.
“Aaron and I have a great relationship, and we talked about it,” Favre told Bruce Murray and Brady Quinn. “Obviously, he’s a little disappointed.”
Favre remained careful not to share many details about their discussion, but it’s hard not to conclude that Favre’s opinions on the subject were shaped by his conversation with Rodgers. And from that conversation came a key theme: Disrespect.
“To me, the word ‘disrespect’ I think is perfect,” Favre said. “That’s the message that it sends to Aaron.”

Hulu NBA season was suspended back in March. You know Rudy gobert guy was the first victim of the Coronavirus in the NBA. And now we’re in May, obviously, Adam Silver said no decisions will be made until this month. Some executives that Mark Cuban is thinking are thinking about cancel it. What are your thoughts?
Caillou Borden
I think it’s gonna be really, really hard to play especially when the public doesn’t have the adequate test that they have. Congress doesn’t have the test that they need. The general public doesn’t have the test they need 15,000 tests it’s gonna be really, really hard to get. I’m hopeful that their games as a fan of the sport, but it’s gonna be really really hard for them to be able to play and be a game.

NBA team executives and players agents spoke to CNBC yesterday. In recent weeks about the challenges and resuming play. They say team owners are concerned with liability issues and are conflicted about whether or not to give up on the current season. The individual spoke on condition of anonymous as it aren’t authorized to discuss legal matters publicly, billions of dollars are on the line if the if the NBA can’t rescue its season NBA team splits the roughly $2 billion dollars per year and national TV money the NBA receives from ESPN and Turner sports, but clubs also gain revenue. Local media deals with regional sports news. How much of an impact would this be economically for the NBA?
Caillou Borden
I think it’s going to be huge because there was an ESPN people how sports contributes so much to the economy. There was thinking about all the stores that are owned next team facilities that are owned by regular fans that support the team’s product. So that’s going to be lost even though television revenues great. A lot of it’s based on, like how many people come to games and like, yeah, the big market teams are gonna be fun to build. But some of the small market teams still have to pay their players and some of those teams are really going to struggle.

What was the pay cut? The NBA players were gonna get I think by May 15 was it I 15 or 25%.
Caillou Borden
I think it was the players. The players are great too. So in the CBA they have something called it’s like war something Norris like a special circumstance. The only way to withhold money I think they can either structure restructuring To the contract next year, or I think the money is lost at the planning of the players want to pay. And keep in mind, I’ve got 90% in salary, so

yeah, yeah, it’s, uh, so far. It’s been good. I think like their last big paycheck was April 15. I didn’t get paid monthly, right?

Yeah, they get paid the first and the 15th of every muffin and no play. Oh

yeah, the last one on April 15 was not that bad. I think they got the full paycheck. And a lot of these players have endorsement deals. And, and a lot of them have contributed to pain, a pain. The Rena workers, um, I believe almost every team, like has a player or the front office has paid like the arena workers, right?

Yeah, pretty sure. Yeah. Yeah. Most of them is played them at least to the end of April, something into may and some to the end of the rest of the semester.

Another alternative that Adam Silver’s brought up was to have a smaller tournament or a smaller playoffs to play. Well haven’t played in Orlando or in Las Vegas. What do you think about that format?
Caillou Borden
I think it’s great. But at all the format, especially with the lack of testing, and like, some of the coaches like Terry stars, Greg popper is over 60 assists. It’s gonna be really hard for the MVP. I mean, a lot can change. But seeing the amount of people that can’t get tested, and seeing him out, he was like, it was one thing when the NBA got tested, originally, Rudy go burn down vigil. That was about 5050 tests, but to get 15,000 tests and the lack of the lack of testing by the government and the lack of testing by both regular citizens is really going to be hard in the NBA players are gonna have to be away from their family for three months. And if I’m going to hawks, what’s the answer? For me to come back if my seasons already over Yeah, I love basketball. But, I mean, what’s the incentive for you to really come back if you season? I don’t know if you saw what’s the current date basically, you know, contend that the season’s over on the NBA on the comeback. They’re gonna come back but they already had egged me in basically suggesting that the season’s over. So

what was the kind of stiff curve made this week? I heard Steve was saying that the front office was acting like the season was over. Yeah. And well, yeah, it was kind of it was kind of intriguing to hear that. But I guess the only question to come by like the only reason is to determine a NBA champion. Do you think that’s a good reason?
Caillou Borden
No, I think it’s great. I think it’s great for the playoff teams like LeBron James, I want to come back for the playoff team. It says you know the NBA You know, I think it’s sick out of reach 70 games to get the local television revenue that they get from the TV deals with the local nine ESPN and TNT because those are guaranteed, but they got to reach 70 games to get those money for The local revenue and it’s a lot for the cities, you also got it back then as well. For you to get the other players to come back and the players not going to want to just go straight to the players, there’s one thing to be in shape, but it’s another completely different thing to be off since March 11. And actually go out there and apply as you increase the rate of injury, not going to be a perfect situation. But if you just come back and go straight to the playoffs, you’re basically increasing the odds of players getting hurt. Because players haven’t played at three months. There’s some players that say they haven’t shot a basketball in three months. So that’s a little concerning if you just go straight to the plant and I just think that’s the best course of being able to come back.

This is what I would do. I will take a month like this month of May, every player will have a month to train right now. Either to have like the top eight of each conference play in the playoffs or tournament wherever you want to call it in June. be played in a row. Lando, or Vegas or an A thing I believe one of the options was Bahamas, we think about, like we think about my proposition.

She’s over 60 so she automatically has to get tested. I don’t know how they’re going to get tests from the government when it’s just aren’t that many tests ago. I think you got to just follow the health professional rajic and doesn’t want to cancer. And it’s one thing with the drop, have all your plays and things. But just like the NBA, even though the players who train on their own, they’re not allowed to practice one, four or five on five. So you got to get the team back. Eventually you got to have some kind of training camp for the NFL, and how are you going to get players that all that training camp and delete? Yeah, they’re being paid a lot of money, but how are you going to get them leave their families. I mean football with no fan that you know, sounds great, but the owners are not going to want that. And I don’t know how you get called football players to play it. You know especially when they’re not being you know paid but that’s another thing but you know it’s gonna be hard for the NFL to play but they got it going as planned now, but it’s gonna be hard for them to play and in the fall

The Colts got better they added the force Wagner which is going to help your defense. They got Phillip rivers there, he’s going to be their guide so they get another quarterback, the tection should we solid, the Titans are coming off the AFC Championship game, they’re gonna bump down a bit, but that division is going to be competitive. So definitely was going to be the worst team in the division. I thought it was really good to practice big Jordan love crushing Green Bay but Aaron Rodgers attack to collarbone injuries last three years. He went 13 and three last year was really good for the team. I still think he has a couple years you know ahead of him what’s the situation with Green Bay saw the opportunity I don’t think it should be a negative Aaron Rodgers he’s not going to replace him right away he can sit there and learn from him. That’s going to be great for doing love to get there to learn from Aaron Rodgers. So I just think that it’s a situation where Green Bay saw that they can get their future in three years if he grows to develop early Green Bay could always train him there’s gonna be plenty of teams that’s going to need a quarterback coming up five or six teams always in the first quarter. We go straight for something we need. Get a suit. Why to that? I don’t think that he’s disappointed over the joy in love cake. I think it’s more disappointing that I’ve all set around. They basically let 30 receivers go ahead of analog, an average after receiving since 2005. They’ve had really good success with second round receivers, in particular davante Adams in the second round, and they’ve had success with Randall Cobb, also Jordy Nelson of the list goes on Donald driver. They’ve had really good success with draft in the second round. And as we show Organizational scouting where you get first opt out and the second round, but it was more disappointing that they didn’t get a receiver at all in the draft. They let receiver after receiving go even in the second round. I don’t think airlines disappoint with the joy of love but I think what he has more of a gripe is where they just you know, out of every seven all seven rounds, they didn’t address the receipt revision at all number two receiver at all while they let before nine is load up and that’s not the position but they let the four nine is get another receiver and Trent Williams and you just lost them NFC Championship game and you didn’t adjust the receive position behind davante Adams. I thought it was a little question was second row eight Deal. I like them. They’re he’s more of a physical bruiser. He has really, really good speed and tremendous upside. But we have Aaron Jones he had a breakout year last year. And our running back Jamal Adams gauge is ineffective in short yards and we need a maybe a bruiser back. But right there, it’s just questionable that they didn’t trigger and also they could have taken off into line. We lost Brian Bulava. I know we added Rick Wagner, but they could have took it they could have took a wire received with their they were playing on the board. They also could have took an offensive line. I mean, they took an inside linebacker and Kemal Martin, but they were better linebackers that felt that they could have took a loss Blake Martinez and free agency. So as a little question of why they didn’t address our business, like why receiver they didn’t just the offensive line right tackle and they could have got some more team speed but it was overall a very blue collar drive. And if I had to give it a letter grade A b a c plus bought that. That’s it.

I mean, like we said before, like and Raj is you know, 36 and even if I don’t think he’s gonna be falling off anytime soon, he had a good year last year, and I still think he has three to four more years, but the energy is getting better the cow was at Stevie Milam. The fortnight has got better Trent wins is a huge addition. They lost you’re stealing retirement they are Trent Williams which is really huge for them. And Seattle though they Russell wasn’t there was competitive. Minnesota is right in your division sizes think as a situation where even with the extra playoff team There’s a lot of teams in the NFC that’s gonna be competing and you only have so many bites at the apple. So if you’re Green Bay, you have to have that sense of urgency for your quarterback.

I think Nick foles the person gonna start? I think I think Maggie’s hoping that Mr. burski gets pushed by Nick foles. And Mitch to basically ends up winning the job. So some fire in the show a little bit more competitive edge or a little more chip themselves. bracketing Nick foles is going to ultimately win the job. I don’t think he’s going there to be a backup, Nick foles and won four playoff games since 2017. I think the bears have one sec. So Nick foles is definitely going to start and I’m putting my money on Nick foles to start that job

I’m staying with Green Bay I mean 33 last year, the dairy Smith pricing Smith made a really tremendous impact on our defense, current positions they went on to against the green Get passes last year, I think it comes down to head to head. The lines of far off. I think my projection will probably fire this year, because I don’t think they’re going to be good enough in a division. I think the bears are going to be around. You know, it’s early. We have a lot of time but I think the bears would be finish around five. The Vikings will win around 10 games. I think Green Bay went out 12 and I think you’ll come down to head to head Kirk Cousins against air Rogers. Those games NFC north and the entities usually come down to head to head games. And that’s where I gave green radiates to head to head battle.

Most of those tech staff don’t end up working out because instead of trying to take you know, they Emily Bo tech so much, which is really good, but they don’t try to be their own personality. So 1.0 tech staff sadly don’t end up working out.

In beginning of the episode it’s all fun and games but they were a little harsh on him in the first two episodes, and which made me more painful.
