On Tuesday, NHL Commisioner Gary Bettman announced what the league’s return-to-play would look like, confirming that a 24-team playoff would take place.
Once the league has been given the go-ahead from health and government authorities, 24 of the 31 teams will resume play. The top 12 teams in each conference will be selected based on their points percentage as of March 12, when the league paused play.
The top four teams of each conference will claim automatic berths to the first round of usual 16-team playoffs. They will play intra-conference, round-robin games against the other three teams to determine seeding.
The remaining eight teams in each conference will then play in a best-of-five qualifying round series, with the four winners proceeding to the first round of the playoffs. These games will use playoff overtime rules.

But last week yeah, well Let’s go back to march you know when this started and I say that postpone the first spring training the regular season, you know, the owners and players came to an agreement, you know, saying that players will take appropriate Italian meaning basically, they take their home Sally and then they divide it by taking they put you know, by the game that they play so they play at home where the sports close you know, and they’ll just pay half their salary you know, so then comes the next week you know, as owners say, No, no, no, we want to change it up because you know, obviously that was that I think when they did that they’re hoping you know, revenues will be different. Maybe fans will be interested in but now the summer 2020 at least you know, sports we played we played an empty stadiums and arenas proposed. We want you to take a low FA Cup, even though it is 50% is a player say no, no, no, no. Then yesterday, they Major League Baseball owners proposed another seller, you know, another set of a plan where they will take up, you know, a higher percentage of the salary off of the higher salary. So basically your superstars and Mike trout here, Bryce Harper yell, they will take a huge chunk while you’re, you know, your low level, you know, Major League player when I lose much so it basically, you know, it’s a public relations battle, basically, you know, the owners are trying to make, you know, these top players look bad, you know, they say, No, this is how you guys are making millions and millions of dollars, y’all, while everybody else was fighting for survival. Yeah, it’s in excess where baseball is unfortunately, you know, we’ll talk about the NBA and NHL where they have a very good relation between the players and the league, you know, they’re always in constant communication and they weren’t together where they measure baseball for years you know that you know what baseball is the union never loses on baseball that’s why there’s no salary cap you know that’s why you know you’re guaranteed salary you know, if you sign a contract for so much whether you play tonight you’re gonna get that money so the you know the owners you know seem to lose every negotiation for many years and if there’s no baseball this summer is going to be a huge nightmare. You know, and baseball may take years to come back from this just because it just was a terrible You know, this, you know, until we officially see something and you know, basketball and hockey You know, this is awesome opportunity for baseball, you know, to have a big spotlight. So, you know, they got you know, they everybody talks about this being the most important we can baseball, you know, major league baseball history on the fence because that they can get a deal done, you know, You know, and if we’re talking next Tuesday, there’s no deal done. You know, there’s most likely is going to be no season because you’re looking at a month of spring training, if you want to play at the beginning of July so yeah, so it unfortunately this point you were saying have the easiest way to get back into it, you know, players who haven’t made a single dollar yet this year will be more eager. It’s kind of frustrating for fans to see this because you ultimately have billionaires fighting millionaires, you know, during a pandemic, which is not a good book.

We’re seeing the complexities of these player unions are we’re seeing their true colors shine. You know, we’ve always heard about this and that Major League Baseball player union, NBA and NHL, but you just bring up a book. Hey, very good point. Feels like MLB it’s a little bit more complicated.

as baseball now because the NFL players always given in the end Santiago, the NFL players did not want to play a 17 football game. Yeah, all you saw social media. You know, all these marquee players say vote no vote, no vote. No. What happened? At the players vote. They all said the majority said Yeah. You know, the players always no giving in to the owners and elite, you know that they don’t have a great relationship. But it’s better than you know, baseball players and the owners and Major League Baseball have between each other where they just can’t get together. You know, this is this. What I’ve been talking about that we haven’t got You know, we haven’t got to, you know, what they’re going to do to make us safe, which they should have been doing first before you get to this. So you know, but you know, this is apparently, you know, they gotta get together, you know, Tony Stark ahead of the game, man for the good baseball gotta give him the room together, I worked a deal out.

kind of got a framework of something where they want to be you know data, you know, last thing you know you heard was the hell dividing you know, until you know, divisions of 10 people you know, basically, I think do it throughout the American League and nationally and you know, you’ll take regional efforts and you’ll play and home empty home stadiums, you know, where you’re limited amount of travel, you know, but you’re going to be able to Playing the stadiums because it’s instead of, you know, I think there’s a lot of issues with playing in, you know, Arizona or Florida. They, you know, they, they kind of like this idea of playing, you know, their own baseball stadiums. So that’s kind of what they they have a framework, you know, they’re probably, you know, they can get, they can get a painting, you know, structure down, you know, I think I move very quickly, because I think they’re almost at the point of the NHL, with NHL, it’s got a framework of what they’re going to do, you know, I’m not quite sure if money is an issue now, they got to work out logistics of you know, testing and all that and they said to you know, find a way to save to me, you know, baseball, you know, yeah, basically all the, you know, most of the even tougher data basically said they want them to keep it they want to bring in the max you know, they want these They need to be played, you know, because they know, it would just give some sort of Relief to People in the States. You know, as long as there’s still a lot of restrictions, they can have that back. We, you know, ultimately, I think when people are going against the wall in the backs against the wall, we, you know, yeah, we’ll get done. Who went? I don’t know that I didn’t that that’s going to be the ultimate issue.

I think that that’s where, you know, some of the similarities and he didn’t, I mean, basically, it’s just, you know, you want to limit the amount of people going down there and why he’s gonna bring you know, these teams have no shot. You know, they’re not going to want to give They don’t want to go into the training camp, or it just, it can be kind of a mockery of the game. But there is a financial responsibility and really does it to these teams do have to their local regional markets, you know, that they have to play a certain amount of games. You know, you know that, you know, like, the next half the place I’m on the game is on the MSG Sports Network. Are you know, they owe money back?

I’m talking about that, you know, you know, it’s kind of the money guy, the NBA, or the owner, is, you know, that these teams have a response, all 13 instead of responsibility to the local TV contracts, which all of them do to show their games that, you know, on ESPN, or ABC or TNT to play so many and you know, these networks are they owe money? So that’s I think, where Mark Cuban’s coming from that you know, they should have, even if they’re not, quote unquote, in the playoffs, they have to have some sort of game between each other. I don’t think that gonna work out because I am even hurting who is from the nine, who is lasers who are currently tied for ninth place, whoever, you know, the regular season that allegedly shot of making the playoffs basically said, you know, if there’s a format where then, you know, they play quote unquote, regular season games, and there’s not enough games that they would make the playoffs and it’s not worth having playing, you know, him, you know, going, you know, because there’s ultimately a risk I’m playing, you know, you lose the people together, you know, and they’re going to go to a training camp and there’s risk of injury. You know, I, I kind of just like the idea of, you know, even if it’s a traditional format of 2010, two summers conference, I think that’s where you guys can’t bring any more than that.

Something to definitely look at and what Ryan was referencing, Damian Lillard said this week, um, he, he will not be he will not be interested to going to Orlando. If his team does not make the playoffs. He said If we come back and they’re just like we’re adding a few games to finish the regular season, and they’re throwing us out there for meaningless games, and we don’t have a true opportunity to get into the playoffs, I’m going to be with my team because I am part of the team. But but I’m not going to be participating. I’m telling you that right now. I don’t think he’s talking for himself. I think he’s the voice of a lot of team players, you know, who could go and pick the rest, they don’t want to eat, the rest are going down at the risk of injury. It’s just too much. You know, they just want to come. You’re ready and a refocus for the, you know, following year. It’s a, you know, an interesting, you know, when you’re talking about a child a minute, you know, MBA school, you know, one location, or the NHL has basically you know, divided The east and west of the two cities, you know. That’s what kind of leads me to believe that they might do this World Cup format or oil and mix up the conference is as Eastern West because you bring all the teams to one central location, we’re not, you know, based on geography. This kind of gives me an idea that that might be a indication of what they’re leaning towards. But basically, what I read even on this morning is there’s a lot of smoke out there about what they’re going to do, no one knows what they’re going to do. The insiders you know, have said, you know, that, you know, owners have ideas for other ideas. Basically, they got to come to the boy, you know, like you said, they basically decided in the location now, they just got this is the format and, you know, the time schedule that they’re going to put together because they’re kind of like in the beginning phase where the most teams are doing voluntary work. I don’t know, if every facility is open, I think most of our young players are coming out to see by themselves or with a coach. That’s, you know, the next phase is that, you know, they thought I’d be able to get five or six players and playing together and then that said, be no more training. So you basically put their foot in the ground, we’re going to work towards body obviously goes on, and the outside world is going to ultimately have a play, you know, they’re making the effort. You know, they’re getting together, they’re talking and, you know, it’s kind of refreshing to see everybody working together in case you had players and owners, MGM all on calls together working out this format. You’re opposed to baseball where you all you hear is bickering between each other. Now that’s why they both get a framework of a deal done so quickly. Moving forward, same with basketball, you know, that the players want to play Yeah. But, you know, they’re, you know, the trust they have with Adam Silver and believe, you know, that’s ultimately the difference, you know, and why they’re moving forward and you know, and they trust that the NBA is going to look out for their best interest, you know, and that just kind of make it

It’s definitely different, you know, so basically, you know, in each conference, you know, they’ve thrown out the division data, you know, totally different format than normal, and it’s playoffs obviously because they’re so do they’re taking the top four point guards and each conference and they will determine you know so so let’s look at the Philadelphia Flyers had the fourth day that doesn’t mean that you know when the playoffs officially start that they’ll be number one and they’re going to play the Robin game and traditional NHL regular season four meaning basically the beginning of the tie they play a five minute overtime you know Noah scores and they shoot up but then you gotta go to the rest of the teams that are in what they call to qualify they don’t have your best out of five so it’s just a an Eastern Conference Pittsburgh Penguins are the first season coming into the 12 they’ll play you know best out of five you know, and then you know they win. The Penguins will be the first the segments when they’ll be the 15th and then They will be playing the whoever was the lowest point together from round robin of the top four series and what they called the first round of the playoffs again and the other the other side. So basically, unlike the NBA, the NHL is going to host so usually they call hub cities. And you know, there’s 10 you know, 10 cities five, that would be the last five we’re just like March Madness. kind of hit me right now, basically Gary Bettman ideas. He’s got five cities for each Eastern Conference. five cities for Western Canada there only be one city but he’s basically going to announce as we get closer, you know, based based on Kobe, you know, facts and you know, they’ll believe testing is which of the five conference, you know, will host and I will guarantee you within barring a miracle that it will be the last the last half That’s kind of known fact right now.

Yeah, you know, I you know, Eastern Conference, you know, I you could be Columbus, it could be Pittsburgh, you know, I don’t know, Pittsburgh. Yeah, John’s got some logistical battles too, you know, that they got to figure out you know, 17% of their players are not in North America right out. So you know, with limited travel, you know, internationally, you got to figure out a way to get these Guys, y’all have a next couple of weeks back to North America, you know? Yeah, because most likely being in these foreign countries, once they come back North America, they’re gonna have to spend two weeks in isolation, you know, before they’re able to see their teammate. But, you know, there seems like they got a framework of testing down, you know, basically that meant said by July when I want to start playing that, you know, he’s been told, you know, by House officials that testing will be very much available to you know, the quality of the testing needs to be easily accessible. So, no need to operate, you know, I don’t want to learn the lead gen, but they should be successful in finishing, you know, this playoffs. Here’s what you know, I think I told you, a couple Release ago that I had some major you know qualms about the NBA NHL starting because now starting July which is you know especially baseball doesn’t start you know that all eyes on you but then that’s something you know back in September of September when you’re probably going to be finishing is that you’ve got the NFL and college football you know who all expect to have a full season especially NFL. So when we’re in I think the NBA is kind of decided, you know, whether the player matters I can type their season before December, or January. And I think, you know, hopefully by December 2021 that we’ll be able to definitely have, you know, some sort of fans and a fan. Yeah, I mean, Steve Ross, I mean, basically said the other day, he doesn’t know why they want to differentiate this thing and, you know, at the border assessment, I think there will be I, you know, obviously not full capacity, you know, near full capacity, but I, I don’t see why, you know, as long as things keep going, the trajectory is across the country, why to kind of be advanced. But that’s, you know, there was a question that could be answered later. But this is just an interesting take that every week, you know, the situation, you know, and how they’re handling it. You know, it just basically, you know, NFL is, you know, we’re gonna have a you know, only thing they’re missing right now is organizing activities, you know, also known as oh two days, but they go On this time here, but you know, I didn’t realize, you know, that training camps will be held in late July, early August and most NFL cities. So I think that’s positive news in that regard going forward.

Um, yeah, I think I taped a little bit here and there. It definitely was interesting. You know, I think because you have obviously the two most famous golfers you know, whoever somebody is generation, you know. And then two of the most famous NFL athletes You know, I think we’re just starting for, you know, live sports. You know, when people watch anything, their names are recognizable. So, it was an easy rating straw, you know, I think was golf fans would say it’s probably, you know, for expedition of golf at times, but that’s I think, yeah, it was it was just something else to take our minds off of what’s going on and you know, raise some money.

This I can tell you Tom Brady is not the greatest golf player in the NFL. But he did have one good play. I think he shot a putt and made it in the hole. But he was not as good a man he was actually much better. But there’s plans for the match three that could potentially have Michael Jordan in it.
