Byron Jones 1:06
Oh, we only four inches of snow. My neighbors have finally done the right thing and they dug the front of my house out. I’m ready.
Unknown Speaker 1:14
Oh, good today,
Victor Arocho 1:16
only four it says snow then we’re in good shape. We were in good shape. It was a little like a be here today. So it was awesome. Well, today is a very special show. It’s post Super Bowl, obviously. And we got a lot of things to talk about. But also, today’s also kind of we’re dedicated this show today to one of our own from Perth Amboy New Jersey where Brian Byron and I grew up in school and and Mr. Ed Bishop was a was a leader in the community. He was I will just call him Mr. Bishop either we call him Ed and his entire family. The bishop family has been fantastic. And we want to dedicate our show to him their sports family as an entire family. And I don’t think I’ve met a bishop that I didn’t like that wasn’t kind wasn’t generous. And we’re fortunate today to have some of his children on, you know, he’s children are we have Debbie, Brian Donna, Denise dawn,
Unknown Speaker 2:30
and Brad
Victor Arocho 2:30
hand will tell you a little bit about them. I believe they’ll be joining us. Byron, I know you. You’ve mentioned this to you have some nicer kind words you’d want to say as well.
Byron Jones 2:41
No, my condolences, you know, to the bishop family that Mr. Bishop was, you know, he’s a great guy. You know, I didn’t know he was a Marine, you know, that makes it even a lot better. You know, he served our country. You know, like my sister did he on a lot of other people know that, you know from Perth Amboy. cofounder, founder of the Perth Amboy Red Raiders. No, it was great. He was a lot of kids and I came through that program. You know, I wish I had that. You know, when I play, you know, we had water buffaloes back then. You know, he’s just a great all around guy. You always had no smile on his face, you know, he’s gonna be greatly missed.
Victor Arocho 3:22
And significant for our listeners out there about the Red Raiders. You know, we come from an urban town. So we really didn’t have that kind of opportunity for Mr. Bishop to start the Red Raiders. Red Raiders was like Pop Warner football, pretty much. I mean, that’s what it was. And so that was a major accomplishment. And a lot of young kids went through there. And I do believe we have his youngest, Brad, who was also a head coach, and we could tell some stories about him and a little bit but I believe we have Brad on the phone. Is that correct?
Unknown Speaker 3:55
Yes. So I’m here. Hey, Brad, you know,
Victor Arocho 3:58
welcome to the show. And again, both Byron and I, we wanted to make a special announcement and our condolences to your family. I want to give you a chance to you know, maybe talk a little bit about your dad’s story or maybe a tight Red Raiders were around when you were there. Right. You
Unknown Speaker 4:15
know, they weren’t they they first started when I was actually in Pop Warner and he wanted to be able to provide something for the youth of Perth Amboy being that, you know, we were always with the Bearcats and then they would you know, the teams would switch up and it would be a feeder program for Woodbridge high school he wanted to build a feeder program for Perth Amboy and strictly for Perth Amboy because he was like I said he was 30 years of you know, little league baseball coach and he just he was all about the community and he was all about the kids and you know so that’s that’s how it all started. And it was him I think Mr. skur Mola, Mr frosh CEO, a bunch of them they all got together and you know and it’s still going on today so that you know testament for what they did. the hard work that they put into it, you know, to keep it going for the use of Perth Amboy That’s awesome.
Unknown Speaker 5:05
That’s awesome. And again, you know our condolences out to your family. You say your family was coming in
Unknown Speaker 5:14
so yeah so we’re trying we’re trying to get on there watching it live stream now on you know on the computer on the on the only one that’s on the phone right now. They don’t know how to exactly get on to be recorded on the phone. I’m here with everybody.
Victor Arocho 5:30
They say they can call in Really? Okay. You have the number I’ll put it up. I had Brady here for for everybody out there says being Brian Byron pick Brady. So we had that.
Byron Jones 5:44
I also pulled out the book we had a quarterback whisperer right here. No,
Unknown Speaker 5:48
there you go.
Victor Arocho 5:50
What is kangaroo hat? Hold on, let me change my screens to make it easy for you. They all could call in so I’m gonna change my screen.
Unknown Speaker 5:57
That way you have the number?
Victor Arocho 6:02
You see it? Yeah, when it’s on Facebook, you could only we could only see the comments.
Unknown Speaker 6:09
They can only adjust comments. Okay. And then they can call in. So if anybody wants to call in you guys can call him using that phone number to talk to Mr. roto. And Mr. Jones. I know I’m I still respect you guys.
Unknown Speaker 6:24
I feel old. I rather
Unknown Speaker 6:26
you call me. You call me. You’re right.
Unknown Speaker 6:30
You’re right. You’re right. You’re right, coach.
Victor Arocho 6:32
Exactly. Well, quick story with Brad. You know for Sammy, c’mon. I like for them. And so stories, couple stories. I got you know, Brian and I, I was younger and Brian and I’m older than then Brad was really young. And Donna was a year younger than me. And she actually married one of the football players. I played with Robin Frankie was also good quarterback. But when something interesting and I led by Byron tell the facts. Brad was I was outside. I was a ball boy, the day with the high school football team. And
Unknown Speaker 7:09
I’ll never
Victor Arocho 7:10
forget him because he’s always around to move kid.
Unknown Speaker 7:13
And
Victor Arocho 7:14
was the day I broke most record. I have four deceptions in the first half. So I’m pretty happy that he was around that and then he ends up breaking a major record. You want to share that South river record?
Byron Jones 7:28
Yes, he’s the Middlesex County record. Is that right?
Unknown Speaker 7:34
Yes, sir.
Byron Jones 7:35
That’s my man. Part of the triplets with William Clark and Danny Romero.
Unknown Speaker 7:43
Yeah. And we used to call ourselves the carny app connection because we all live down by the waterfront
Unknown Speaker 7:51
What did you see something about five min to equal
Byron Jones 7:55
Middlesex Middlesex Ryder Yeah. Middlesex.
Victor Arocho 7:58
Okay, awesome. So you know, it’s good to see years later. And then he was head coach for Perth Amboy. So I mean, it’s a lot of love in our town for the bishop family. I can just tell you that right now. So it’s a it’s a hard loss for a lot of us and I posted in our hometown piece, and I just think he deserves you know, we may not be ESPN, but we’re going to announce our Oh, yeah. Somebody else joined us. Welcome to the show.
Unknown Speaker 8:27
Absolutely, yeah, that would that would be me. The older brother. Don’t they? Yeah.
Victor Arocho 8:37
I’ll put their names in there.
Unknown Speaker 8:39
Because they say the apples don’t fall far from the tree, right, though? No doubt.
Victor Arocho 8:44
Okay, I got Brian. Hey, Brian, welcome to the show. Prime was a guest on our show.
Unknown Speaker 8:51
And you know, again, you and I were texting last night and thanks for listening. Yeah, dedicate the show to your dad. And again, you know, like I said, I thought it was important as we talk sports and you sports family. So you got some some things you want to bring that we can bring up a lot of Thursday’s dad between bats and sports and
Unknown Speaker 9:16
Geez, well, you know, it’s kind of surreal, right? I mean, it’s been a while since I’ve been up here, you know, because I’m down to Florida to vicuna, like you are and you know, I mean, what my dad did, you know, all the years. What you got to remember is he started coaching a little league when I was playing Little League. And you know, Byron, your you and Victor my age, so that was a really long time ago. And, you know, when we got into the Red Raiders thing, you know, there’s a lot of people that helped get started, you know, like my brother said earlier, you know, with Bob screamo and john braccio. And, you know, some of the coaches we had, you know, when we first started this thing out, and again, the fact that it’s still going to today, you know, again is a testament to not only what my My dad helped help build back then and and so the people that have taken over and and are still running it today, right? But again, it’s all about you know what we do for our town even though I’m not there anymore you know put them we still might my home. And so it’s it’s not the reasons I want to come back and visit for. But the fact that I’m here with my brother and all my sisters and my mom and my nephews and my niece are all here. Today we’re all sitting here watching you on the TV. So again, thank you to YouTube for for doing this tonight. It means a lot not only to me, but to our entire family.
Victor Arocho 10:40
Well, you know, I thought you know, when you play chess, there’s only four bishops. I didn’t know there were six.
Unknown Speaker 10:47
Yeah, we Yeah. When you when you asked me that last night, you know how many there were? I was like, I started naming a wall for you like Wow.
Unknown Speaker 10:58
I didn’t even know that.
Victor Arocho 11:02
I was like, Wow. I think we have someone else on the line. Hello, welcome to the show.
Unknown Speaker 11:10
Good evening, gentlemen. Mark from Jackson, New Jersey.
Victor Arocho 11:14
Mark, Mark. Mark say your last name because my last time Byron I killed it.
Byron Jones 11:20
Yeah. Mark,
Victor Arocho 11:25
I’m assuming you know, Mr. Bishop, you know, Brian bishop. He passed I do. And we’re dedicating our show today to him.
Unknown Speaker 11:34
Yeah, my condolences.
Victor Arocho 11:39
The the youngest son is on the phone as well. He actually ended up being the head coach at Perth Amboy. And he was the only he took I put my wife’s name. He took the team to their first playoff So, you know, a lot of Panthers on it. And for the bishops that Marco was an outstanding play with Byron house in the outstanding football athlete got a scholarship to Clemson and then he went he’s a an Army Ranger. So he served as well by the way Mr. Bishop was a marine. So you know we got a lot of service people on our phone and so thank you all but I just wanted to give you guys the relationship between you know, you guys know Mark and Brett Brian, you should know him because you’re older than I don’t know how long we go back to be patients they killed us well,
Unknown Speaker 12:35
here’s the thing with Mark I’ve known Mark probably since I was in probably kindergarten right because we went he went we went to the same Catholic grammar school together Mark Mark marks an old Ukrainian guy
Unknown Speaker 12:51
Yuki tech
Unknown Speaker 12:53
Yeah, you keep track Yes. Way back when? And, and and yeah, Mark’s brother graduated actually the year before me.
Victor Arocho 13:04
Okay, great. Well I’m glad that they mark thanks for thanks for joining in this special this special show for the bishop family what a monologue and we’ll definitely talk some sports but it’s I wanted you know our audience and people watching this because it continues playing on the sports cast net on YouTube and a replay on Facebook but YouTube is there so you can go back anytime. Um That’s how I kept Byron Byron decides to deny deny deflect tries to say something and then he goes I didn’t say that good. Byron you know, I got the record right. It’s just like the record on my show a Brady that’s thing is there. There’s no confusion.
Byron Jones 13:46
Brad knows. playoff games. You guys went to him? It wasn’t modality, right. Yes. Yeah, I was there, man. I froze my butt off.
Unknown Speaker 13:54
It was so cold.
Unknown Speaker 13:58
Thank you for the support and that team that we went up against against mouth and they fell one play short against South Brunswick in the final? Yeah. That was I mean, they were a great team, but just the experience, to get, you know, to get the kids there and to the backing of the town, the police department, the fire department, the mayor, the administrators of the school, they they gave us a they lined the streets of Eagle Avenue with fire trucks and police cars, you know, leading us out to go to the playoff game. I mean, it’s an experience that these kids you know that they’ll never forget, you know, and it’s something that that happens in like Texas, you know what I mean? and end up on a movie and they actually got you know, got to experience it. So, and thanks for the support thanks to you know, I always saw you on the sidelines you know, so you know, definitely thank you for the support you know the kids appreciate it and I definitely appreciate it as well.
Victor Arocho 14:56
We got five we got five football Panthers on the on the on the phone on the show. All right. And any old tie generational?
Unknown Speaker 15:04
Yeah, yeah,
Unknown Speaker 15:06
that’s right. We got like lots and lots of different classes. So it’s good to again, you know,
Victor Arocho 15:13
if I’ve meant a lot to a lot of people, so she wants you to know he’s well loved. You know, I can tell you Benny a lot of my friends pet. You know, we everybody knew your dad, like, from just from, from you guys. And he also owned a sports bar and per family called vets. We had a lot of fun there. Brian.
Unknown Speaker 15:37
We are located in program well,
Victor Arocho 15:40
you know where else to Belize is everybody knows so yeah. So there was on the on when you walk down to that corner where the girls vocational school is there was a corner I mean, equipped to play the closest street that used to be the same layout for the bikers. Yeah, exactly. But it was it was another club before that. And then that and that and Brian and then bought it and you know, turned it into something that was a it was nice. Sometimes it was a little challenging because everybody from the other towns came in there and they always wanted a bottle fanboy people. Cuz you remember we were a melting pot, so we all got along. Yeah, it was the guys I got to think about who’s on the phone. You got a lion. You got a black African American and you got three white guys.
Unknown Speaker 16:29
Remember, it
Victor Arocho 16:30
was our DJ and bozos the DJ Exactly.
Unknown Speaker 16:34
Yeah, well here’s the funny thing about that back in the early days when environment I played Perth and it was amazing spot we were a bunch of months could be a little bit everybody was Hispanic or black or white little this little that blue, green, whatever. And when we go out and play teams like women’s through all the time, and we go up to girls a quarter and they’re like, oh Hungarian, and you play solos as well. So we play locally.
Unknown Speaker 17:03
Brunswick, East Brunswick
Unknown Speaker 17:06
Madison was that Madison Madison central map Yes. And also JP Stevens
Unknown Speaker 17:14
Cedar Ridge
Unknown Speaker 17:14
yeah yes Cedar Ridge was the guys belong here
Victor Arocho 17:19
because we grew up in that kind of environment. It was sad that within square miles you step out of that train different like we all we were together but the beauty about us if you miss it one Amboy person you’re messing with all of us
Unknown Speaker 17:35
that kind of ruined ruined everybody from outside of town because they didn’t know who was gonna come out of next we used to go to
Byron Jones 17:43
was a White Castle and rollway
Unknown Speaker 17:46
Yeah, the one
Byron Jones 17:48
the one you will we be Woodbridge we went over there and we didn’t realize it was we were outnumbered like 10 to one because we went up with everyone on a mountain next you know their chases that route one Mr. McCarty was in they
Unknown Speaker 18:02
do how many times I went maturity to Whitechapel during high school. A big suburban
Unknown Speaker 18:10
truck he had he was a big boy. So I’m sure he enjoyed his life.
Unknown Speaker 18:15
God bless him man.
Victor Arocho 18:16
So bear family let them know you know we’re having this for them. And look Mark called in it was great to have Mark we like having mark on and I’m glad you called Mark because some of the things
Unknown Speaker 18:27
you spoke about the time that you did call in ended up coming to fruition. Again, like the day that was I text Byron when after the game or during the game and say mahone never got chased so bad he got hit so hard, was unbelievable. Everything came through. And it all started with the Green Bay Packers game.
Victor Arocho 18:48
So look, before we start going, we’re gonna get into talk about a little sports. Is that okay, Brian and Brett?
Unknown Speaker 18:54
Yeah, I just want to say one last thing. Um, and you know, I just wanted to you know, thank you again for for what you did and, and honoring my dad um, you know, it’s definitely special. For me, my brother, my family, my sisters, my mom. Um, but you know, like you said that how we touched so many lives in Perth Amboy. Um, the amount of people that have contacted me and I’m going to list names that have called me have text me have reached out to me and you guys know all of them because they’ve all been players in Perth Amboy. One, Ken and Johnson reached out to me and said anything you need. Sorry about your pops. You know, I mean, Ken was my assistant head coach and we would not have made it to the playoffs. If it wasn’t about him. He’s and he’s that that type was about, about the community. He’s just like, he’s just like us. He’s about the kids Carl Graham. William Clark, Damon Clark. Orlando Feliciano. I mean I’m you know, Patrick Rick’s like these, all these names that my dad has, you know, put an impact on and, and they’ve all reached out to me. And I mean, put it in on Facebook, these guys have the things that they said about him, you know, he’s been such a, you know, a great role model for the use of Perth Amboy and everything that he’s done and for you guys to do this for him. That’s just, you know, it’s a blessing and I and I just thank you guys for that. So I appreciate
Unknown Speaker 20:32
when you’re welcome and
Victor Arocho 20:35
that your dad deserves it. You know, and, you know, we always like I said, you know, we’re Panthers for life. Right, we were fortunate to come from Mattel with all the stuff that’s happening in the world today to be able to have friends of area, the city, you know, every background every culture. So I just, you know, again,
Unknown Speaker 20:54
when when I saw it reached out to Brian, I had asked him this is what I like to do
Unknown Speaker 21:01
send your stories call in the family, you know, however no, it’s a tough time so but he tests a lot of people and it makes a difference in sports and that shows you the you know how
Victor Arocho 21:14
how close knit that town can be you know, boxed inside of all you know four square miles with 60,000 people it’s kind of tight but knowing everybody for like you know you’ve heard them when people I run into down here so um, but I want to say thank you for everything that you father did and thank you we mean look, you contributed Brad as well you know, coaching our team and what you did with going to the playoffs and with the fire trucks in my opinion that should be happening every Saturday. We’re gonna close down it’s not like there’s that much you but um, so I just wanted to go into that and, and it’s okay when you guys are taking a short you know, barber take your hat off. Oh, can we give it like a 30 seconds? minute’s silence for Mr. Just division. Yeah, sure.
As soon as I say that.
Unknown Speaker 22:26
Okay, Lord, please bless the bishop family. And Mr. Bishop. sure he’s coaching up the sky, looking down on us and saying, what the heck you’re doing. And bless the family and bless everybody that he’s touched. And thank you.
Byron Jones 22:44
Thank you guys, Brian. Fred.
Victor Arocho 22:51
The Brady Bunch. came on. I’d be like, I’d be like Alice in the middle.
Unknown Speaker 23:00
Yeah.
Victor Arocho 23:03
We get it all the days because there’s a lot of Bishops like I said that. I just want to say God bless. Debbie. Brian, Donna, Denise, Dawn, Brad and Mrs. Bishop. God bless.
Unknown Speaker 23:20
God bless you. Yeah. Hey, thanks, guys. I
Unknown Speaker 23:22
really appreciate that. That’s awesome.
Victor Arocho 23:25
Man and share it out let some people know how much your father meant to a lot of people. Alrighty, so let’s we’re gonna get into you know, we are sports. So we got to transitioning here. So right now we always talk a little bit about giants. We’re gonna get deep into the Super Bowl. We got a special guest on our phone on the call. Brandon Brian, you’re more than welcome to continue staying on the show. If one of your family members wants to say something they’re more than welcome to you know, pick it up and say so please don’t don’t don’t hesitate. Okay. So as I’m reading I always like to give a little bit of giant news. We got a lot of unrestricted free agents. Byron
Unknown Speaker 24:02
Yes. You
Victor Arocho 24:04
got a D back safety a linebacker offensive tackle a running back gallman D line. What’s LS
Unknown Speaker 24:15
long snapper long snapper
Victor Arocho 24:24
right back we should put Chad honey and Colt McCoy.
Byron Jones 24:35
So let’s throw this out here. All right. Who should the Giants know you guys are stolen phone who should have giant sign first
Unknown Speaker 24:45
letter Williams. Who
Unknown Speaker 24:49
do
Byron Jones 24:51
okay, well about dalvin Tomlinson. What What should What should we do with him? He’s on there, too. He’s on that list.
Unknown Speaker 25:02
I see the vontae Brown
Unknown Speaker 25:07
Tomlinson
Unknown Speaker 25:09
cap situation. I think
Byron Jones 25:14
the numbers keep going up and down because I know it was like 175 are supposed to be at but they’re they’re either close or
Unknown Speaker 25:21
whenever I heard 179
Victor Arocho 25:24
they’re lowering the salary cap this year, though. You know what?
Unknown Speaker 25:29
It’s not like 198 times 179.
Victor Arocho 25:33
Yeah, I don’t see that. Byron should be. You said Tom. Listen.
Byron Jones 25:39
Yeah. Tomlinson down. Yeah, yeah, no,
Victor Arocho 25:42
I’m sorry. I apologize. Yeah, him and Leonard to do guys that are unfair, right. I’m sorry. He is on that. You take him over.
Byron Jones 25:53
Oh, what do you think? What do you think?
Unknown Speaker 25:57
Here’s the thing. I mean, the Giants have needs Right. Right. Both those guys were placed them I remember hearing them in real time. Every time they played the Cowboys this year. So it’ll come down to
Byron Jones 26:17
see they’re saying that the Wow, that the Giants as of January 14, have $7,000,516 156 $150.
Unknown Speaker 26:28
They’re cleaning, they’re gonna clean some house, then they’re gonna get rid of some people.
Byron Jones 26:32
Because I’m saying like, Tyler is 12 million folders. Another six. But like a free epi between those two. Who was golden Tate is another they would save 6.1 million with him. Pepper, they got him on it. They could pick up the fifth year option for him. And while they picked it up for Evan Ingram, in April
Victor Arocho 27:00
of this year, just look at it real quick. If I can keep gallman Thomason and Williams, I’d be happy.
Byron Jones 27:09
Goldman’s gonna want started money. He’s gonna he’s gonna go someplace and he’s gonna know he’s got to get that this is a second contract. But he’s got to get his money now.
Unknown Speaker 27:20
I’ll take say Kwan over him anytime.
Victor Arocho 27:25
He’s gonna come back hungry. I saw him working out and I think he’s gonna be alright.
Unknown Speaker 27:30
I think if the Giants can keep their defense intact, for the most part, I think there’ll be that’d be much better next year or this year 2021. I think as as the season went on for the giants, they got better. And they got better. They got nastier. They got they bought into the new system. I think they have a lot to be reckoned with next Oh, this year. Iran, you were saying the same thing.
Victor Arocho 27:54
Defense of the defensive line. And Mark, you know, I was saying that when everybody was arguing that the Eli and and Dan Jones and the year before and my argument has always been, you know, look right now. Yeah, we can say whatever you want about the offense. Our defense was
Unknown Speaker 28:14
terrible. Yeah,
Unknown Speaker 28:16
we never our defense is what we pride ourselves on blue collar the giant young boys
Unknown Speaker 28:23
and unicorns all day. Yeah, no days. Doing partial days. Stevens is always about defense, defensive line linebackers. It was always about the giant offense was like, Okay, we’ll get by no one through a lot of scoring. But will will win the close games. But defense 111 a lot of the games won. And this and I think the Giants realize that they’re going back they have to build a defense to be keep the games close. Look at the Cowboys. They’re in the world of hurt. But they the defense went to hell and now they have to rebuild it. And I think I think the giants are in a better place defensively than the Cowboys on
Byron Jones 29:08
the Cowboys got those two good linebackers though then that was abandoned Yeah,
Unknown Speaker 29:12
but Smith Smith yet there’s issues with both of them the rookie or I can say rookies but the guy that’s been there from my Boise State he’s been hurt now twice. He’s missed a lot of games past two years. Now the Cowboys are going to thinking about drafting this linebacker from titanium his name now. Yeah, the kid from Missouri North Carolina. Pace possibly replaced Yeah, possibly replace one of them. Because jaylon Smith and I have a great season even though we had a lot of tackles if he had a lot of tackles catching, you know running from behind and catch up, not at the point of contact. And so but a lot of that could be a lot of that because of the way they scheme Change, because we kept them in the Cowboys were a four, three defense for many, many years, except to empower ourselves days when you flipped. Now they went back to, you know, a three, four, with the past defensive coordinator and now he’s gone. And then flipping back to his four, three, because that was our ending there. And so I think this may save the team because a lot of people were born in originally to play for three, with with some variation to them. Real quick guys,
Victor Arocho 30:33
cut you off with it more but considering that the NFL is becoming such an offensive
Unknown Speaker 30:42
league now, right? It’s
Victor Arocho 30:43
a quarterback league and offensively. No matter what you write these offenses with these rules are going to score. It’s almost like you’re good defense is going to be considered a defense that’s one of the best but someone that’s let more scoring than defenses of the past. thoughts.
Unknown Speaker 31:08
I think the NFL has designed it that way. Not because the plays are different than scheme to change. I think the NFL is changed a lot of X ray the pump is wrong the way the quarterbacks hack camp can’t be as nasty as they used to be even a plank as wide receivers. I mean, I think it’s designed more for passing. The fans wanting to touchdown. They didn’t want to see, you know, 1310 board games to be used to toll defense.
Victor Arocho 31:33
Right. So what I’m saying is and Byron, I want to get your piece of what all I’m saying is that a great defense in today’s NFL is going to allow more points than a great defense of the past. So it’s almost like the bar is higher like you know, they’re the best defense in an NFL allowing only 17 points a game.
Byron Jones 31:57
But a prime example look at the Super Bowl, Super Bowl, look at those ticket packing pass interference calls. He said he played like that all year long. They played like that all year handy. handy dandy, then off the biggest game. Now sudden, you want to start calling us that was Yep.
Victor Arocho 32:20
You been in Kansas City got away with calls the game before in the same matter. They still think I call that went their way.
Byron Jones 32:28
Yeah, but that that game figured the referees that they have for that game are the best. You know, they whatever ratings however they rate you know, I’m sure Betty could tell us how to do ratings to referees games. So they’re supposed to be the best. They watch films of these teams all the time. They watch, you know, and they probably, you know, referee some of their games, so they know how to DBS for Kansas City or anything, but for the biggest game of the year. All sudden, you know, you’re gonna get a little bit touchy with some, some of them would like
Unknown Speaker 33:07
to pick a game to call make those kind of calls. Yeah, I agree with that game like that. A lot of that stuff should have been like, Okay, well, we’re gonna let the kids let the guys play. I mean, unless it gets really out of hand. Well, this has been a problem for the last three years.
Unknown Speaker 33:25
Because what they did to New Orleans Saints was just blatant. Yeah, I mean, that was terrible. I mean, I mean,
Victor Arocho 33:31
I mean, these ticky tacky ones. Byron, you’re right, no doubt, but the one that happened to saints, there’s no one on Earth. The person or any person who doesn’t know football would say, is he wrong to do that? Yeah, something’s wrong because it’s been happening in major games for the last three years.
Byron Jones 33:52
Look at it now. Marco. Now it’s a quarterback league. They make money in the quarterbacks are making a billion dollars. And then you know, something else we’ll talk about later. The quarterbacks now want to start making decisions as far as teams are concerned, you know, they’re trying to be like the NBA players, or your NBA players are dictating where they want to go, where you want to pick who you want to play with. And you know, the NFL, you can see it slowly shifting where, you know, they’re trying to do the same thing with these quarterbacks. They play these guys a lot of money, you know, for them to do what they do. So they don’t want those games like Mark knows, back in the day. 53300 they don’t want those.
Victor Arocho 34:34
We’re gonna get into that a little bit. So but let’s get into the Super Bowl now. All right, so Super Bowl 55. Kansas City night, Tampa Bay 31. I had a 38 and you had a 2724. Right. vonda’s hiding his van decidi savant if you’re out there he listened in or Sonia. You want to get on your sister. Takeshima
Unknown Speaker 35:03
last week’s
Victor Arocho 35:04
show Vonda Woods was talking and she was talking like all this great stuff about Tampa right Byron okay who you pick in Kansas City
Unknown Speaker 35:15
it’s in the family man it’s a flip flop
Victor Arocho 35:23
they the younger one post suggests that the only Jeff’s ever seen her posts was wine and coffee she what she posts like footballs or something like that.
Unknown Speaker 35:34
I’ve never seen
Victor Arocho 35:36
wine and coffee at the same time. You know Martin bond is hiding somewhere she pitching pick Kansas City, hey Byron, pick the bucks. Because we knew. First of all, we knew nothing. We knew that the game but we just figured the depletion of the the offensive line. And you mentioned that two weeks ago on the show, and any and when you call them you mentioned in texting and then that that’s the narrative. And then it got worse as the week progressed, like they kept having problems. And I was telling one of our producers of the show, like he goes really you think that’s an issue? Dude, that’s a super issue you can be I mean, you know, last time when Atlanta Falcons were here, one of those guys got picked up for trying to pick up a hooker. You can’t have those guys. brainy, shift his whole family away. You know, me, and you have the barber shop incident. Then you have you have Andy Reid’s son, who gets into our car accident. I mean, that’s and then now now you environment you say because I want to repeat this Byron’s heard it before, but you too, who played at a high level, both defensive line guys and defensive people just in general, right. And, you know, I played defense, I was defensive back. So I’m playing against the receiver. But when you’re playing mano a mano against the line, and you’re a starter, Mark and Byron, and you know, you’re going against either a second or third stringer, or you’re going against a left tackle, who is now playing right tackle you. In my opinion, I want to hear your answer. In your mind, you’re salivating cuz you’re gonna eat him up, like, you know how you want to get fired up for a game. Now you’re even way more fired up? Thoughts? Well,
Unknown Speaker 37:37
I mean, in today’s world, there’s so much film on these guys where you can sit back and watch the film and see the weaknesses. Back in our day, we didn’t have a lot of film per se to deal with eight millimeter wheels we had. But today Yeah, it’s all it’s all about. Being able to, you know, find your weaknesses. And second, third strings have a lot of weaknesses. That’s rather than storing
Unknown Speaker 37:57
while I’m talking about the mental aspect, you’re writing the mentally your starter,
Unknown Speaker 38:04
you’re really fired up
Victor Arocho 38:06
and you’re going against a guy who’s not a starter. Just that combination is almost like you’re going to start going against the starter particularly defensive lineman because we’re aggressive right defense, you’re already saying yourself I’m gonna beat this guy up I’m going out right Isn’t that your mentality? Just to start Yeah. So your mental tality must get elevated when it’s a second stringer
Unknown Speaker 38:34
yeah
Unknown Speaker 38:36
yeah, I would say for the most part by get me wrong I do your research condemning hate against guys that were second change or damn good happy person admit that wow these guys really good How come he’s I’m still waiting for the guy hasn’t been better. Wow. Okay, I
Byron Jones 38:52
guess I got like I got one wall the same way. Tommy who Dennis was a freshman when I was a senior right I see the freshmen yeah young Give me the light him up you know that whatever. We’re doing a boardroom I’ll never forget this the boardroom with Tommy I get down. Didn’t have my mind right. Next year though. He drills me I might be all that. I’m going rolling down the field. And I’m sitting there. I was like, Oh my god, I just let this freshman just blast me like I mean, he lit me up. I was like, You know what, I have to redeem myself now. We got
Unknown Speaker 39:34
the first night all lit up.
Victor Arocho 39:38
Yeah. That was a Super Bowl playoff game your mentality would have been totally so that’s interesting. It was a good perspective from two guys that played at a really high level. Speaking of tape, I don’t know I see Brian Brian is on and they may have some new because you know they got their stuff going on. But this is a great story, a bishop story. So while we while we’re dedicated to show them this Bishop. So I mean, I ended up running into Brad at an establishment for them. And they had just come from a game or film study or whatever it is, and, and we started talking. And then when we sat down, it was hilarious, because we’re talking about expect teams would exchange films and tape and sometimes a coach would be mad at you. And he wouldn’t take those, Vic, we don’t even do that. I already got it on video on my iPad. You want to know how old I felt at that point. Because data. Remember, I was watching Bobby, all of us, I was watching on eight millimeter, I took them with me and had lined it up and go back and forth. And if the tape would break. So Brad, who’s the head coach tells me don’t do that anymore. I don’t have to worry about a coach keeping a film. It’s on my iPad as soon as the game is over. That’s amazing. So you know, I wanted to share that story that Brad shared with me. So again, shout out to the bishop. Cool. So yeah, so the other thing is we were talking about was that, well, I’ll get into both right. So then I heard about Todd Bowles defensive coordinator was so upset that the way the media was selecting the chiefs, right? I would the media was selecting the chiefs, even though they have a depleted offensive line. They were selecting the cheese because of Patrick mahomes. They were building this up as the goat against the baby goat. Right? That, that that, that I and I found this out afterwards, obviously, that that created so much locker room poster board that bowls with, like buzzard into the film room, and made a game plan that look what he ended up doing. They scored nine points in five quarters because the game before when they locked when when they lost the Kansas City. They didn’t score in the fourth quarter. So five quarters they play, they put up nine points.
Unknown Speaker 42:10
Well, this is this the other side of this and no one’s no one’s talked about yet. And what they just did, what what the Buccaneers did to the to the chiefs, was that now they put together a game plan that their best the NFL is going to use for next year. And how the Chiefs Think about that.
Byron Jones 42:32
You have the same kind of players that Tampa Bay has that front seven is outstanding. It really correct. They are out and
Unknown Speaker 42:39
about. I totally agree with you. But it’s just it’s the deep entity. It’s not such a nice to play to play the full part of it. But it’s just scheme of how they set things up. How they kept the ball from going downfield to 75 yards but didn’t pass. How many balls went downfield. Not one guy? No, I can go back and remember, everyone was short.
Byron Jones 43:00
Don’t say things are so far back. You could even say what is
Unknown Speaker 43:05
my point, but that’s my point. That was the scheme and it worked. And they were able to do that and keep the ball close right? Little bit. We’ll try and do this go player passes and didn’t go anywhere. didn’t do anything really. But the scheme, the schema terrific.
Victor Arocho 43:20
You know what also the schema part of that scheme was, was the fact that let mahomes run for those 1012 yards. But don’t let him run and let your guy lone downfield. That’s how he was killing you. And I said it from from the beginning of all our shows, right, Byron that he’s he scares me the most. Patrick mahomes when he’s running towards the line of scrimmage, because he doesn’t want to run past the line of scrimmage. He wants to get it to his guys. Because he knows these guys are coming at him and he knows that he can run. So let him get that 12 let him get that 15 you know the bend don’t break but don’t beat me for six. And then and then one more thing too. And then I want you guys to respond to this. But to mahomes credit under duress, running out of bounds getting knocked through some ropes. I mean, he he can lay those guys drop passes, as you should. Yeah, but yes, I’ve been able to throw that ball that way. But he can. Oh my God, he’s no doubt he drew a deep
Unknown Speaker 44:30
a rope at hearts
Unknown Speaker 44:33
practically getting hit out of bounds.
Unknown Speaker 44:36
Now he’s got he’s got a hell of an arm. He’s just he’s so strong upper body wise. So many things he did.
Victor Arocho 44:42
Yeah. And then those guys just dropped the ball and I just think but they just I’m telling you that they look down. They just didn’t didn’t.
Byron Jones 44:50
They just had a lot of stuff going on too much like what we’ve been saying you know the the position coach, the COVID thing and you Holmes is hurt. You know, you see, here’s how I think he had his toe surgery. I think today or tomorrow, he was hurt, you know to switch around the opposite line and they did they had just a lot of stuff. They had a lot of distracting like way too many for that big game.
Unknown Speaker 45:16
Did you guys get the feeling that after mahones got hit a couple times got chased around a little bit that his that his he got mentally he got out of the game or I would think Oh, yeah, yeah, I think that’s worse I’ve ever seen him. That’s the worst I’ve ever seen play this. I mean this this year.
Victor Arocho 45:35
I think he got I think when it really I think I saw that. But I think when it got worse when his two guys dropped balls that were in their hands. Because they didn’t give him a chance. His foot was killing him his tone, his tone, I’m telling you that that has a lot to do with it. Right. But I mean, if you’re if you’re getting frustrated, and then a quarterback, you throw the ball to a guy in his hands and he drops it. And they’re already kicking your butt. You mean it’s frustrating.
Byron Jones 46:05
But they turn around they get hit with a statistic where he ran 497 yards, chasing them over 190 cited
Unknown Speaker 46:13
by that.
Unknown Speaker 46:14
That’s a lot.
Unknown Speaker 46:18
That’s for games for Lamar Jackson.
Byron Jones 46:22
What’s the gotta be a band, the one big tackle is probably about 360 pounds in chasing them. You got sued it’s over 300 pounds chasing them. That’s a lot of guidance, a lot of weight chasing this guy or a few like
Unknown Speaker 46:33
that. And one more fact, how many times how many times did Tampa Blitz guys?
Unknown Speaker 46:41
No, four times. Four
Unknown Speaker 46:44
times a whole game? Yeah. That’s it. Think about that. Four times the whole game in a different line could control the game. Beautiful. You can ask me anything better.
Victor Arocho 46:54
That’s a that’s the other thing. It goes back to your narrative. It goes back to the scheme. Right guys? You know you if you’re gonna play Kansas City, you got to be prepared to switch your front seven. You have to keep flipping that up like viruses, right and your defensive backs. You better know that. That the only person who should be behind you is the zebra.
Unknown Speaker 47:22
Nothing gets nothing gets nothing is buying you up and behind you a separate zebra that’s why I call them
Victor Arocho 47:29
Brady grunk. And a B now buyer gave me a lot of crap because I was a little nother show. But I was on the money. I called it I said gronk is gonna have a big game. Yeah, that was already and then I said if a B scores a touchdown, it’s done. It’s over. It’s over the game. Just say good night. I don’t care what it is is over. Right? Because if he scores it I mean, think about it. You got the two guys Brady Britt brings scores three touchdowns.
Unknown Speaker 48:03
That is true.
Unknown Speaker 48:04
I agree about that. I agree. I mean, I I tell you what. I was watching the game and Brock, you know as old as he is right? He can he can still run block. I couldn’t believe he was pushing linebackers all over the place. I mean, he will. Yeah, he was. He was he was taken down and defensive ends. He was he was he was walking down the corners is unbelievably as old as he is. He’s a monster years old. Yeah, he’s football.
Unknown Speaker 48:34
Is football.
Victor Arocho 48:37
Getting back in shape. And then they were comparing him to Kelsey. Right? And I think Kelsey is great. But then I even you know me, I’ve been blessed and Steven a and all these guys that picking the chiefs. They had to eat crow so bad. And I couldn’t wait. Yeah, like trying to compare them I go. I sent them a clip of a YouTube of gronk that says gronk was stiff arming and running people over before Henry was right. He was the ultimate Titan that was just, he would get the ball and they were they were scannable he carried guys all the way down with him. He was the ultimate title and he blocked. He wasn’t just to receive that. And then he would run you over Simon like look, it’s a different league if you’re gonna compare them at the same time at the same league. grox a lot better if you’re gonna compare Kelsey.
Unknown Speaker 49:30
Yeah, no pair receiver.
Victor Arocho 49:34
He’s more of a big receiver than then I would say is gronk but you know gronk started the Rama run you over I going out and I’m gonna carry gold. I mean, I could show a couple but go to YouTube and go look because I’m a grant runs. He was just people couldn’t even hold on to it. He brymer What were you saying that he was upset because he got tripped up because he almost scored another touchdown. He was closer when he
Unknown Speaker 49:57
broke up.
Byron Jones 49:58
He caught that one pass and he got To the left a little bit more he probably I ran that guy to the end zone.
Victor Arocho 50:04
And he did that early in his career he would just high stare pass through those guys. Or he’ll run you overheat if you go YouTube gronk is catches. He did way more than Henry did that don’t get me wrong it still Henry’s phenomenal. Right? But Matt, are you doing this and bigger and strong, but Grace was just doing it so that my only point is, you know, I hate when they compare players and different errors because things change. You know, it’s like in the NBA, you know, you can’t get away with what with the pistons did the Jordan they beat it. They call that Jordan rules, and then the Shaq attack think about Shaq attack. And they had players in personally just the foul to get them to align. You can’t do that now. Yeah. So and then we talked about the five quarters with the pheasant, you know, the gentlemen that we were talking to one of my guys Nikki where we were saying that. I told us as you know, Nikki, I’m gonna call you out because my co host Byron was me and him. We’re live we used to date Kansas City to cut the gas off mark this is when they say that Kansas City to the gas, the pedal off the gas. I’m like, there’s no team in the world. Andy Reid or Patrick mahomes on take the pedal off the gas against a Brady and you’re only winning by three. And they made the adjustments in the fourth quarter. And then they made some serious adjustments
Unknown Speaker 51:25
in the Super Bowl.
Unknown Speaker 51:26
And it just sort of carried over.
Unknown Speaker 51:31
They got better going into the Super Bowl. The tamper, they were just you know, they just look so comfortable. They look like they’re having fun. They were enjoying it. You know, they went out there and they and they and they knew that they were gonna win. They knew I can I can see it to where they play. They were so puppy. It was it was actually was it was actually refreshing to watch a different team win the Super Bowl match, not because it would have played but when you get to watch someone come out of nowhere. Tampa Bay come I don’t know when coupled cherry picks great brain gronk. But it was fun to watch and which is really enjoyable. Yeah, they were a wild
Victor Arocho 52:10
card and they were number five. And then look who he had to go through. Yeah, everyone was discounting a lot was a beat up a Hall of Fame. I mean, I’m I told everybody I said again, we’re blessed.
Unknown Speaker 52:25
When I didn’t think that was when I didn’t think they would win in Green Bay. I really didn’t.
Victor Arocho 52:30
But think about it. We’re blessed in our lifetime to have seen these quarterbacks go against each other. And for breed we win in both divisions. Right? Because when we grew up it was the NFC. It was either the NFC East or San Francisco
Unknown Speaker 52:47
that was it.
Unknown Speaker 52:48
Right? Okay, giants the cowboy 249 Is
Unknown Speaker 52:52
it a Redskins?
Victor Arocho 52:59
Redskins won, Giants won Dallas won and San Francisco pretty much for like a six year seven year period. Right so but but but for him to do it in two different places to me is incredible. To do it in a first year with a brand new coach is incredible to do it at 43 is incredible to take a guy under his wing like Antonio Brown, and you didn’t hear a peep out of him the entire season other than he was just catching and scoring in the last five games
Byron Jones 53:37
he was living in Brady’s pool house so he don’t want to mess up living in the pool house. That’s why he did
Unknown Speaker 53:43
viruses that all the time. You live in a
Victor Arocho 53:49
funny sound like it’s new to him.
Byron Jones 53:52
You live in a Tom Brady’s
Victor Arocho 53:56
Oh, we got a correction because I’m a Yankee fan. It’s their house. Okay,
Unknown Speaker 54:01
whose house it is?
Victor Arocho 54:03
Let’s make sure we’re clear on the Yankee fan. Derek Jeter house. Who thinks this that’s going through that house? Derek Jeter Yeah. Tom Brady, and you got a deal. And forget about it. And the wife is worth more than all of them.
Unknown Speaker 54:20
Oh, yeah.
Byron Jones 54:22
A bee in the house because of that guy. Because my wife is you can’t come here man.
Unknown Speaker 54:27
Yeah, that’s the guys. Yeah. Do they be both TCP connection No. NET capable.
Victor Arocho 54:37
I think Tampa is gonna be back. I think they’re gonna be back because I think they just just in my opinion again, I think they’re going to be back in the Superbowl because they got a taste of something that no one gave him a shot. They weren’t even clicking until later in the season. And a lot of those guys Like, they were saying that normally when they talk to quarterbacks after the game at the ages that they were like, you know, what do you guys get? What are you gonna do next year you want it? You know? Well, let me just enjoy this moment right now and you know we talk about my family and we’ll see what we want. Pretty good. I’ll be back. gronk you come in. I’ll be back. I’ll come back. I’ll see what’s going on about coming back.
Byron Jones 55:25
This is gonna be my sleeper for next year. They fix the quarterback position. Indianapolis Colts.
Unknown Speaker 55:34
Oh, hey, what if Indianapolis could get their hands on Watson data be great team. Yeah. Yeah.
Victor Arocho 55:47
I like Stafford I’m just telling you now, but I think I’m rooting for action. First of all, I want the Johnson and Johnson I don’t care who else. And I already been warned about Dallas with you, Mark. So I’m ready to go.
Byron Jones 56:04
Victor, let’s start this right here. We have a cowboy fan. I’m gonna throw this one out there.
Unknown Speaker 56:11
Here is Brett.
Unknown Speaker 56:12
Yeah, here we go. If the Dallas Cowboys
Byron Jones 56:16
trade for the Shaun Watson. What’s gonna happen?
Unknown Speaker 56:22
day trade.
Byron Jones 56:24
Do you think they’re gonna trade for
Unknown Speaker 56:26
it? Well, first of all, a big relief stack. Are they gonna trade that? They’re gonna
Byron Jones 56:33
see around
Victor Arocho 56:35
DAX already following the Washington football team. They announced that he started following their team.
Byron Jones 56:46
Oh, but I’m just saying to get rid of that. What do you think about the song going to the Cowboys?
Unknown Speaker 56:53
I would. I’ve been asking about I’ve been asking for that for weeks. I think that I’ve already told people I said my opinions after that’s a good guy. Good play a great team guy gate locker room guy. I get that. But he’s hurt. And how Susan used to hurt I don’t know he’s he’s already had two surgeries on his ankle. He had the first one done. We first got her and then a second one then December to do some cleanup work or whatever. So no one really knows yet what he can do besides walk around all day. To me to john john. JOHN Watson is the better quarterback than a pedigree. He says he’s a starter. He’s proven himself. Yeah, he’s got a couple of injuries. But he’s 25 years old and he’s kept friendly. To me it’s about the money more so than anything else because no way you could squeeze Watson in put them in the running back a couple of wide receivers, give them the tools you’ve never had to Euston and I think you’ll do to a guy at 25 years old be phenomenal. But what if he never had
Unknown Speaker 57:55
to give up for him though?
Unknown Speaker 57:57
was the thing
Victor Arocho 58:01
Super Bowl show this post Super Bowl relax. I got the producer my ear telling me to hold on before we go to commercial.
Unknown Speaker 58:09
Oh
Victor Arocho 58:12
yeah, so hold on a second I want to share I will share you know I gotta share a little song for you guys.
Unknown Speaker 58:27
Are Trump Brady?
Unknown Speaker 58:31
You hear that?
Unknown Speaker 58:33
No, no.
Byron Jones 58:50
About four inches out there
Victor Arocho 59:12
look at that laughter though from him
Unknown Speaker 59:25
lucky
Unknown Speaker 59:27
don’t don’t don’t know. Okay,
Victor Arocho 59:31
they’re saying okay, there say that a Brady still has yet to not complete a path.
Unknown Speaker 59:38
That’s fine.
Victor Arocho 59:40
So what did you think about that buyer? If I hadn’t heard him drinking,
Unknown Speaker 59:47
hurting for four days I’m enjoying ever done that.
Byron Jones 59:49
Enjoy yourself. Where’s his mascot, though? Like the rest of them on their mascot? Yeah.
Victor Arocho 59:57
Florida. He was on his own boat with his own They were on I don’t know. Bottom line is I thought it was good. Barrington is good.
Unknown Speaker 1:00:07
I thought it was good I think it’s fine. I mean hey, just the trophy just thrown around. Well, I can care that’s probably a plastic trophy who knows you know was a real trophy though tossing around the boat the boat I don’t know. Yeah, I
Victor Arocho 1:00:19
don’t know either. But I do what I do know though. It takes a Brady to like everybody was okay with it that they will actually liked it. No one’s ever seen that side of Brady.
Byron Jones 1:00:31
He’s having fun now. He’s not what Bill Belichick you know, oh. So with Bruce Arians who was cursing up a storm later on,
Victor Arocho 1:00:41
also he’s not he wasn’t he was in that like, like that cozying up in the snow like Byron he had in a parade in New York. He was on a boat in shorts, and it was hot. A lot better paraded dead in the middle of New England
Unknown Speaker 1:00:59
during this time, middle 20 degree weather. Yeah.
Unknown Speaker 1:01:04
A little chilly.
Victor Arocho 1:01:05
You throw something around, it freezes. But he looked happy. And everybody all the reports came out that that team was having so much fun that they were that after the game. Brady went up to every player. Every player’s family. Every player’s kids wanted to take pictures with him. He spent time with every one of those players. And then at the party, they all protected them. And then even the analysts like you know what? They were all happy to see that side of Brady. It was like, okay, it wasn’t you. You’ve never seen it in 20 years, he’s never gotten in trouble. He’s never done, you know, other than you know, having the kid with Bridget Monahan and he didn’t marry
Unknown Speaker 1:01:53
slate. The account
Victor Arocho 1:02:00
of a kicker could change the ball based on kicking off or field goal. I think quarterbacks should have the right to have it within the limits of the game. Because kickers used it punters use different balls.
Byron Jones 1:02:13
Okay, that’s the kicker and punter. He’s the quarterback, he throws it,
Victor Arocho 1:02:17
he has the ball in his hands. It’s a lot harder to throw the damn ball in. And
Byron Jones 1:02:20
let me ask you this. Did he get suspended for?
Unknown Speaker 1:02:25
Yeah,
Byron Jones 1:02:25
okay, then it’s against the rules.
Victor Arocho 1:02:30
I don’t care about that. All right. Party. I thought that was good. The other thing Mark we talked about the week before was that there was a couple players when they won the NFC Championship. There was a couple players that were like, you know, celebrating one guy was, like, in the middle crying that he was so happy. And you know, they were talking to him and Brady yelled at him. He’s like, what are you doing this any over yet? And so there was a there was, you know, everybody was arguing one side or the other and this and that. And you know, the idea that they Some people say, hey, yeah, let them they should let them enjoy it. And the other guy said, but then again, lemon joints four years old cheese. No, no, no, we were talking about the players. That was their first NFC champions. Oh, right. And Brady do that because it was an over. So there was two sides of the coin. One was, you know, hey, they’re enjoying it because they want NFC chips. And then the other side of the coin is well, then again, they haven’t been to set 10 Super Bowls. That’s why Brady’s mid rolls, like well,
Unknown Speaker 1:03:35
I you know, I read an article about what supposedly Brady sent out an email or text to all his players the night before the game. I don’t know how true this is. But this right that as well. And they said that he said the tax out he told every player that we can do this weekend when we can win this game tomorrow. Just Just know, just be ready to play something of that nature. And he sent that text to every every individual individual on the team. how true that is. I don’t know. But maybe he did. I have no idea. But supposedly, he from what I was told for my read by Brady since with with tamper, that he’s been the perfect teammate. Yeah. Now how he was in New England. I don’t know why I think I think we’re
Victor Arocho 1:04:26
probably the same way in New England because he had to leave the team. But these guys weren’t used to that. They’re like he’s changed. I think Tampa as an organization has changed right now. I think he’s brought an alter to that, number one. Number two, they said a few. If you watch like some of the YouTubes of Antonio brown breaking down, yeah. They said that Brady gave a speech in the locker room, that it’s about honor, and you guys should relate to this as serving in the military. And we have a caller on Hold on. Let me introduce you now. But it’s about culture and then he goes into It’s about honor. And we’re gonna do this. We are going to win this game and I’m getting goosebumps just thinking about it. But they said these guys almost looked down and cry when they’re seeing this guy tell them that. They said they’ve never felt in a manner. So convinced they said they walked out that they knew they were gonna win the game. Welcome to the show. What do we have with us?
Unknown Speaker 1:05:24
Hi, this is Pizza Hut. I’m trying to deliver your pizza.
Unknown Speaker 1:05:35
Who is it? Byron? Scott, what are your guys?
Unknown Speaker 1:05:37
I don’t know.
Unknown Speaker 1:05:42
Santiago
Victor Arocho 1:05:49
He’s our he’s the actually the, the the producer the head of the sports cast. Santiago. Mark Erlich, right. Hey,
Unknown Speaker 1:06:02
Mark. Nice to meet you, man. I said about two weeks ago. You’re fantastic. You’re a pro at this. Nah,
Unknown Speaker 1:06:09
man. I’m just I’m an amateur like everybody else.
Unknown Speaker 1:06:15
I don’t agree with Dallas Cowboys getting the Veyron amateurs. You know, I
Unknown Speaker 1:06:21
am an amateur comparing myself to everybody else who’s done this in the past.
Unknown Speaker 1:06:27
I’m joking barchester
Victor Arocho 1:06:31
get something over
Unknown Speaker 1:06:33
good but what So what do you guys wave? We’ll talk about both parades that happened yesterday.
Unknown Speaker 1:06:40
Yeah, we just showed the video clip of him
Unknown Speaker 1:06:45
that is so risky like what if it falls in the water like somebody
Byron Jones 1:06:53
dumped the water right Mark? Oh, yes, sir.
Unknown Speaker 1:06:56
No problem. I just think I think it’s plastic. I think it’s a fake one myself. I don’t know I think
Victor Arocho 1:07:03
it looked pretty heavy him tossing it though. It didn’t look like he had he had to like swing it to throw it
Unknown Speaker 1:07:10
I don’t know
Victor Arocho 1:07:13
who it was a good view of him. So now I want you know, we talked about the Super Bowl sump. Do you got any comments of Super Bowl because there’s another topic we want to bring up? Byron had started with us as well.
Unknown Speaker 1:07:26
Yeah, here’s my two minutes of the Super Bowl. My fire was I mean, I enjoyed it. I think it was a good Super Bowl Tom Brady. Great to see him solidify the gold status. I talked to a few other people and they were kind of like saying that like I thought game was boring. He been closer but I enjoyed it. I don’t know about your about you guys. Maybe because I because I like the box. But, you know, hey, Tom Brady is it.
Unknown Speaker 1:07:55
I got I got what I wanted, which is what I said about the narrative of defense applying. You can fly and take them on my own. And that’s exactly what happened.
Unknown Speaker 1:08:06
Can you see the screen or you’re on the phone?
Unknown Speaker 1:08:08
No, I’m not. I’m on TV. And I’m just
Unknown Speaker 1:08:15
watching NASCAR workday.
Victor Arocho 1:08:19
It’s got Patrick mahomes. Like on the on the shoulders of Brady. And like a little get his face and it says, Son to Work Day February 7.
Unknown Speaker 1:08:32
Oh my god.
Unknown Speaker 1:08:33
Somebody said that to me. I was busted out I was to flooding.
Unknown Speaker 1:08:38
But the thing is like now we know that any team can be beaten. You know, Kansas City looked unstoppable. We thought they might have you know, had a good chance of winning. But any team to lose anytime, anywhere? Well,
Victor Arocho 1:08:52
that’s where Byron and I were talking. And, you know, Max Kellerman and all those guys driving me crazy, because we were talking about Byron, I were texted back and forth about the best team player and obviously Bill Russell is up there number one. And then Kyler Murray kept like trying to throw Jordan in there and don’t get me wrong. Jordan is great, but you know, basketball, baseball or soccer. It’s the best out of seven. You don’t I mean, and and I’m a big giant fan. And I’ve told Byron you know, against the bills, our second game with hostettler we weren’t the better team we were the better team that day. That’s all I cared about. Winter go home, you can’t take a break and then and then look at these last couple of years we’ve seen teams come back down three to one. You’re not gonna do that in the Superbowl. So to win me to be in 10 championships. 10 Super Bowls. He’s in worse Super Bowls the entire Tampa Bay Bucs team coaches.
Unknown Speaker 1:10:00
By the way, it’s gonna get some surgery on his knee. Who is ready to clean out the knee?
Unknown Speaker 1:10:10
It’s probably the cold cleaning.
Byron Jones 1:10:13
Yeah, arthritis is 43 years old.
Unknown Speaker 1:10:15
What did that mean?
Unknown Speaker 1:10:19
surgery on his foot. As to
Unknown Speaker 1:10:22
I did this to hurt. He got he choked, dude, he
Victor Arocho 1:10:27
choked. He didn’t choke. He was I don’t I don’t have any, for me at least put any blame on at all is no, Tom Brady the deep now the defensive game plan was on the money Oh, I want to bring this up. So I go into the office and one of the young guys go man, the enemy man, he really did call the bad game or whatever. I’m like, wait a second time as the enemy should be a head coach. And what’s happening is everyone keeps saying Andy Reid is really the offensive coordinator and call with all the plays. So he can’t be blamed for that game at the same time when he’s been racking up all the champion the yards in the championship, so I don’t put anyone to blame. I just think that too many distractions some time ago, you remember I told you that way too many remember? Clearly, way too many distractions. And the defensive game plan was already being adjusted in the first game. Like Bye. Bye. They made an order in the last game, which then Bowles got more upset about them being not picked against Steven. Everybody picks against them. They said that bad books are a great team would have washed up quarterback.
Unknown Speaker 1:11:49
Think like home field advantage helped out Tampa?
Unknown Speaker 1:11:54
Really? Oh.
Unknown Speaker 1:11:59
I think what hurt
Unknown Speaker 1:12:03
What do you have? Like, whether you allow like 25,000 people in the stadium?
Unknown Speaker 1:12:06
Yeah, I was. Yeah, but they’re relaxing at their houses all week. Like they don’t have to go stay at a hotel or anything.
Unknown Speaker 1:12:14
I wouldn’t call that much you know. To me, I just think I just think Tampa came out and played terrific football and installing the greenback it’s totally what they did against Rogen and that was the template that they were going to use against mahomes that’s my guess that’s perfect. That’s perfect. I think Yeah. Because they shut down Rogers really really well. And I think I just say and they will play in cold weather you know 25 degrees outside and they didn’t know what was greenbay a better team than Kansas City. No, no, no no no. Okay.
Victor Arocho 1:12:52
And Tampa Butte a bit more of a beat down on Kansas City than they did on john greenback
Unknown Speaker 1:12:57
yeah
Victor Arocho 1:12:59
yeah, I mean and listen to me there was Tampa could have been one play from not making it to the Super Bowl. That was the call for going for that field go against Brady. Yeah, yeah, that was bad. That was bad bad bad bad. That was terrible. So anyways, I told the Byron I wanted to tell him about that went about what they said the enemy okay so now I wanted to get into I know we run it a little bit but let’s go well we got this going running hot and we got our idea Go for it. Well we got our producer on the phone because he’s got to do the work um, we’re talking we wanted to get into real quick though it’s still football about environment you started off about the QB stuff you want to leave this segment
Byron Jones 1:13:45
oh there’s a whole bunch of teams that are I got a list of 18 teams on here that are probably gonna look at either a new quarterback it’s gonna be a different quarterbacks are going to be drafted. There’s five quarterbacks that are coming out this year 2021 that you know probably are going to factor in there. You got you know Rogers kind of iffy you know, as far as if he’s gonna stay go whatever he’s gonna do. The Saints don’t know what they’re gonna do with Brees you off he’s gonna go stay whatever you
Unknown Speaker 1:14:15
probably got
Byron Jones 1:14:19
the dolphins were tour. You know they’re on the fence. As far as you know, should they trade for this? Watching now? And when or should they roll the dice for tour?
Unknown Speaker 1:14:30
Don’t let the adjusted Riley show here.
Unknown Speaker 1:14:37
Did you have
Unknown Speaker 1:14:39
that show real quick? Are we bad Clemson against Alabama?
Byron Jones 1:14:45
My favorite is the Washington Redskins. You have the Washington
Unknown Speaker 1:14:50
Redskins Byron being socially correct.
Byron Jones 1:14:52
Whatever Washington.
Unknown Speaker 1:14:56
Who cares? The Washington football team.
Unknown Speaker 1:14:58
The Washington football t. w th
Unknown Speaker 1:15:01
right?
Byron Jones 1:15:02
They they resigned the kid hediki the one that they had that will start at 20 a year or two years. Two years. contract. You have Alex Smith is still there. So are they gonna draft another quarterback? Are they gonna trade for somebody? What are they going? Oh, wow, good
Unknown Speaker 1:15:20
question.
Unknown Speaker 1:15:20
Wow.
Victor Arocho 1:15:21
That’s a great segment. And we’ll continue with that. But that wasn’t the segment. I thought you were bringing up but that’s fine.
Unknown Speaker 1:15:27
No, great. segment. Great job. Byron.
Victor Arocho 1:15:30
No, I was great. It was what I don’t know what I’m talking about what it is. So what do you guys thoughts on that? But there’s so many quarterbacks now. And I’m back. By the way, Mark, this is for you. Yes. This is a cowboy fan. Jerry Jones is looking like a like a genius right now? No, for not for not because because all these guys that signed these 100 million plus contracts, right? are now in bad positions of where they want to either leave, they want to get rid of them. There’s You know, he waited. Now he’s got to shop for deshaun. Watson. You understand?
Unknown Speaker 1:16:12
Yeah. But that’s still that’s still up in the air? Because I’m from everything I’m reading about Houston. Using doesn’t want to train him? No,
Unknown Speaker 1:16:21
no, he said this week, they’re not they’re not gonna do it. They’re not
Victor Arocho 1:16:25
gonna do it. They say he may sit out
Unknown Speaker 1:16:30
for four years.
Unknown Speaker 1:16:34
Or one year, or one year, it is what it is.
Unknown Speaker 1:16:38
That’s right. And and you know, if you’re looking for like three first round, three, first round is a two first round isn’t second round or, and then maybe one or two receivers or some deep sense of how I feel that’s a lot to give up. I don’t know if jerry jones would do that. I know he has given them first rounders in the past. But I thought could that could be a little rich. You know, two first rounders three would be I would, I wouldn’t even consider it. But I don’t know. But here’s the thing. Is doc worth $40 million a year over four years? And no one can give me an answer.
Victor Arocho 1:17:17
Here’s my problem that I think right with with Dak. To me, since Jimmie Johnson left. Okay. They’ve had Tony Romo who was a phenomenal quarterback, right? Then transitions to Dak, who almost was like how Romo got in. And it seems like I think jerry jones is is bad for the quarterbacks that he has on his team because he doesn’t have a coach like Jimmie Johnson. Because Well, you guys are good. quarterbacks they were they put up numbers. They’ve always put up numbers. It’s not like these guys didn’t.
Unknown Speaker 1:17:57
loyalty is my take on this. When Jimmy Johnson and I’m never going back back back to the early 90s when 30 years ago, when the Super Bowl, Jerry Jones led Jimmie Johnson do what he want basically said, you get me I need I need a win. I got all this money tied up. I need to win. And Jimmie Johnson did what he had to do if you want and young coaches, he put in all these young talent, young kids, and they didn’t have a cap. Right. So he can do whatever you want to do. He had total control of the team. He finally hired. Now you can’t do that anymore. All right. So and now jerry jones is out taking over because he’s gone from Jimmie Johnson. I’m not gonna take away from anybody else.
Victor Arocho 1:18:39
Yeah, I’m just making an observation. I think that too. Good note without a coach. Yeah, you know, you have to build up and then back to my quarterback situation. And by he’s smart. Think about the context. Carson weds Nick foles got 100 million. Think about the contracts that were thrown out there.
Unknown Speaker 1:18:59
They’re thinking about trading Carson Wentz, by the way. Go Byron’s very silly say that that’s happened. Yeah, but it’s gonna happen. I heard the same. No, I heard the same thing about him going to Washington.
Unknown Speaker 1:19:12
That would ever happen. That’s the
Unknown Speaker 1:19:14
conference that was in a cold. Cold. Yeah. Maybe Did you go to Dallas I thought Dallas for a little bit cold. Frank
Byron Jones 1:19:23
Wright was his position coach when he played when he was in Philly.
Victor Arocho 1:19:26
You just said Sam do not in the conference when we mentioned Washington and now you’re gonna say he’ll go to Dallas What
are you to produce in a sports cast? Are you just watching if he goes
Byron Jones 1:19:43
to the Indianapolis Colts
Unknown Speaker 1:19:46
or the Jets
Victor Arocho 1:19:48
go the Jets again seven. But so now. Now let’s get into the segment I thought Byron was going to go into because he brought it up earlier. The segment was cubies wanting personnel Oh that’s what you want well that’s what you should
Byron Jones 1:20:04
bring it up right here okay I’m gonna break it down real quick you have all these quarterbacks now that are making 100 plus million dollars you know the the Russell Wilson’s the deshaun Watson’s and all these guys and making all this you know a ton of money that one decision making process they want to be at the table you know as far as you know picking who the opposite coordinator is picking this pick it that whatever, you know, all they’re doing is the same thing that the NBA has been doing it for years. Now you have your heart, your heart he wanted he didn’t want to be where he was, what did he do, you know, he faked like her. This he did that or whatever. And he finally got his way. That’s what these guys are trying to do. And the NFL is not gonna work is not going to work like that the NFL and the NBA are two totally different bs MBA these guys have no guarantee contract you know for a long period of time short period of time. And you know, you know when you’re giving a guy a quarter million dollars or whatever your billion dollars whatever the hell is that you know, I’m gonna let this guy make some decision you know, maybe he knows what he’s talking about like with LeBron James. Look at him. You know? He you know he’s the decision maker out there with the Lakers but but as far as what the NFL is not gonna work will not work when you got a quarterback making decisions like that. That’s not their job. That’s why they have you know, coaches general managers salary cap guys, that’s their job. Do your job. play quarterback?
Unknown Speaker 1:21:32
What do you guys think about that?
Unknown Speaker 1:21:37
I I agree with Byron that teacup in two different animals. I mean, I think she wants and telling the owner that I don’t like this don’t answer. Oh, I don’t like that. offensive lineman, you pick No, I don’t like this. I don’t like that. Hey, you hate to play football now get a marriage that marriage. And I would agree stay out of it. No, listen, coaches What? Let them do what they let them do what they what they’re paid to do. And that’s it. Santiago.
Unknown Speaker 1:22:07
Yeah, same situation. with Tom Brady New England. I think he was also trying to make the front office get him like wide receivers or something but didn’t really pan out and force them to leave New England.
Victor Arocho 1:22:23
I think it’s different saying I want these I need I need all sorts of weapons. As opposed to I want to have my vote count for who you pick as of
Unknown Speaker 1:22:33
right now is that same situation as Russell Wilson going on battle or something?
Unknown Speaker 1:22:40
He’s pissed off. He’s pissed off because he’s getting sacked too much. with
Victor Arocho 1:22:47
mobile, you know, they’re saying like I said they what I’m hearing is that there’s a point where he’s starting to see or maybe he thinks or maybe someone’s in his ears that he’s got a defensive head coach. Right so he doesn’t have an offensive minded head coach. All the other guys are offensive minded. You know, Matt leflore McVeigh he’s gone. I mean, Andy Reid, they’re all offensive minded coaches. But what separate Joe Jones
Byron Jones 1:23:22
when they were when the CN waterboy. Or when the Seattle Seahawks were in the mix? How would they go? They ran the ball ran a ball play action. Russell throw the right. That’s what they did. That’s what that’s you know, he’s been in that system, what 10 years or however long he’s been there.
Unknown Speaker 1:23:38
But he also made a dummy dumb ass mistake and not given the the beast.
Unknown Speaker 1:23:44
The ball.
Victor Arocho 1:23:45
Right. I mean, that was an offensive minded coach and let us Russell Yeah.
Unknown Speaker 1:23:51
It is hiding and saying it anyway, check that off. But whoever called that play didn’t give it to them.
Unknown Speaker 1:23:58
Yeah, that was a memorable play.
Byron Jones 1:24:02
That Bevins I think his name was a coordinator at the time.
Victor Arocho 1:24:06
I could not believe it couldn’t believe it. Yeah. So I mean, that was just stupid. I mean, here’s my take on on. These guys haven’t personnel decisions or wanting to be involved. There’s too many wheels. Too many cogs in the machine and football. You need everything. You know, you could win with three big player players in basketball. You could win with three great pitchers in baseball, in football. You need special teams can beat you. Right? The defense can beat you the offer the kicker can beat you. Especially if the kicker could beat you. I mean, you know, you you have to have a good practice team. Right? You have to have a good second team you have to be able to play against good players, right? I mean, so so and then, you know, the first one to get fired as the coach
Byron Jones 1:24:59
will tell Yeah, he’s the cheapest guy to fire.
Victor Arocho 1:25:02
He’s the first one to get fired. So you know, now what? So I think that they need to just, you know, I think they should have being upset that you’re not giving me, you know, you’re paying me all this money to be a great quarterback. But you’re given me a hammer instead of a nail gun.
Unknown Speaker 1:25:24
Yeah. And then compared to the NBA, what is like a room of 30 people? with players and staff?
Victor Arocho 1:25:31
The whole team? Yeah, they have less than that. I don’t even do this. I just think that’s gonna be a problem. And then not only that, quarterbacks are eagles, eagles, right? I mean, there’s a point where, how do you do that amongst 32 teams? Because you can’t you’re not gonna go one team and say, Okay, this, Shawn and Russell, you got input? And then the other 30 teams are not going to do that. Nope.
Unknown Speaker 1:25:55
Maybe he could. Maybe you could do it in the xfl. But when the NFL.
Victor Arocho 1:26:01
And where’s the Where’s the xfl? Start next year, but we’ll see. Hey, listen, real quick. I just got some notice. A friend of ours, Andrew James got kidney failure. And he’s asked everybody drop out a green heart for him as the color of kidney disease. So am Andrew, I don’t know if you see this or not. Our prayers are out for you. And, you know, hope. I don’t know what the whole situation is.
Hold on, let me get to my last piece. So any I think that’s them making decisions. I know Byron you brought that up and that’s going to be a bit of a challenge. And it’s gonna be interesting, like you said, what, five quarterbacks coming out in the draft? And then we got like, 10 quarterbacks in the league that are going that’s 50 that’s 50% of the league.
Unknown Speaker 1:27:02
So we better Matt Stafford or Jared Goff.
Unknown Speaker 1:27:06
Stafford Stafford saffer.
Unknown Speaker 1:27:09
Madness. Madam, yes. Stafford? Yeah, yes, that was better.
Unknown Speaker 1:27:18
Hey, guys. One more time. If jerry jones lets that go. What team in the NFL is going to pick up Dak and pay him 40 million a year before you. Judge? Yeah. Oh, jets. January. Oh, yeah. That’ll
Unknown Speaker 1:27:36
do that. They will do that move easily.
Unknown Speaker 1:27:39
Both the Jets would coach
Unknown Speaker 1:27:41
Yeah, jets.
Unknown Speaker 1:27:43
At the Colts?
Unknown Speaker 1:27:44
Do they have that kind of? Do they have that kind of money to spend?
Unknown Speaker 1:27:47
I think so because they really didn’t they didn’t have anybody this shot. I didn’t. I couldn’t even believe how well they played this year. I didn’t even think of that. They weren’t even on my radar.
Unknown Speaker 1:28:02
Four for Donald.
Victor Arocho 1:28:04
No, they already talked about that. But they know that they’re gonna give the Jets more than that. He’s worth way more.
Unknown Speaker 1:28:14
Yeah, pretty much.
Unknown Speaker 1:28:17
What do you say I missed that. Like, who else does the Jets have? I mean, I don’t I can’t name one person. Besides Donald
Byron Jones 1:28:25
Williams, though. We have the Alabama guy. Yeah.
Unknown Speaker 1:28:34
That’s, that is funny. Yeah, I think
Victor Arocho 1:28:39
the problem is, is that the NFL, you know, for me, the NFL has always been the best run professional sports team. Right, because of the way they do the revenue share and so forth. But the way that they these quarterbacks in, I think it’s gonna start hurting the team. So I get soccer that the parodies going to start shifting. You know what I mean? You’re not gonna, it’s a problem. Right? As long
Byron Jones 1:29:03
as they have the salary cap.
Victor Arocho 1:29:06
I guess you’re right. It’s just I’m just seeing what this is. This is the most I seen quarterbacks receive and playing the worst. Is that a fair statement?
Unknown Speaker 1:29:20
Yeah,
Unknown Speaker 1:29:21
I mean, see, it’s, I think I think a lot of it has to do with the cats keep the cap he goes up every year. And they know that plusses TV money. The only reason why Dak wants his four year contract is so that when a contract is ready to expire, guess why? The end until renews or renews the money with TV. That’s why he’s doing 495 get
Victor Arocho 1:29:47
I’m just looking at quarterback salaries.
Unknown Speaker 1:29:52
The Cowboys have always done it
Victor Arocho 1:29:59
right that’s My point they had Bromo who did really well they have DAC that did well, but they couldn’t get them any further. And I just think the only X Factor is is Jimmy. Jimmy Jones. I mean, Jerry Jones, you got golf at Jimmy Danson. You got Ben Roethlisberger is gonna make 43 million I don’t know how they’re gonna do that. You got Rogers and you got Kirk. Kirk Cousins is making 33 million when Scott 32 million Matt Ryan 30 million. Brady’s not even a top 10
Unknown Speaker 1:30:32
No. But he’s getting money from his bonuses and then go
Byron Jones 1:30:40
Garoppolo makes more than that Brady. Brady’s getting the allowance from his wife so
Victor Arocho 1:30:48
you don’t care. You’re ruthless. No matter what. You take 10 million his wife is loaded. So anyways, that’s uh, there’s nobody really up there at 40 though. Mark. That’s my point. It’s gonna be is gonna be Ben Roethlisberger.
Unknown Speaker 1:31:20
Yeah, he’s got to figure out
Unknown Speaker 1:31:24
renegotiate that. There’s just no way to contain that kind of money. No way. Now, Jerry was smart. And saying that two years ago at 25 million a year, that would have been a great deal. That’s a good point. He never did. He never did. He had the time. He had the opportunity. He was told to he blew it off. And now if he gets even if he franchises them this year, didn’t cost me 37 million for the year. So how far you often 40 million? Not that far off. But the fact of the matter is, is I still can’t find anybody who’s to sit down to give me an educated answer and say, This guy is worth 160 million over four years. Think about that. What has he done? Nothing.
Victor Arocho 1:32:10
While he’s why he’s put up numbers,
Unknown Speaker 1:32:13
numbers that don’t make you number.
Victor Arocho 1:32:22
This is why I thought Brady was gonna go to San Diego, because he lives there. And the fact that if Philip Rivers could put up 50,000 yards, he’s gonna be able to put up yards. Right. But yeah, I don’t know. I don’t I don’t think he should get 40 million. I just think that
Unknown Speaker 1:32:40
no, no one does. But but but then the argument I get back from people that well, that’s the market market. You tell me there’s a market for $40 million quarterback Where?
Unknown Speaker 1:32:51
Nobody? Yeah. That’s my point. So how could so how can Dak tell his agent, his agent tell? Dak Hey, let’s go in and hit him for 40 million a year. Under 60 million over four years. My size four.
Unknown Speaker 1:33:05
I don’t get it.

And then the people moaning and groaning why Jerry hasn’t signed in yet. Think about that. $40 million and the capital 175 million this year. Do the math. Almost SWAT 30 40% of his of his cat of the cat is going towards Dak for guy that has some good numbers. Don’t get me wrong good numbers, but he’s not a Romo. Mechanically. he’s not. He’s not aikman mechanically he runs well great. I’ll give you that please come in with a serious injury and no one has seen you do anything but walk out and has two surgeries. Yeah, and I didn’t get any money from
Victor Arocho 1:33:46
and it’s a conference that is getting is now becoming stronger. I think the NFC East is gonna be stronger next year.
Unknown Speaker 1:33:55
I hope Yeah.
Unknown Speaker 1:33:59
Barry just whatever you say he’s gonna go back because that means it’s gonna go good yeah yeah cuz you’re always close I’ll send you the episode over
Unknown Speaker 1:34:22
Are you guys happy with Danny Boyle?
Victor Arocho 1:34:32
I they liked what they did to Eli. I love daddy dimes and number one number two I’ll let’s see but let’s let’s give me a season where our defense is playing the way they are. And give me a season which which say can’t bargain with Barkley. Right? Then I can tell you how I truly feel about him because but you mean it goes down because we cowboy fans be called Danny fumbles now, named fumbles. He got he got tackled by a cricket. When he got
Byron Jones 1:35:04
off the Line jumped up.
Victor Arocho 1:35:08
Though the chalk chalk was too thick, but at least at least leverage at least we’re not leveraged by a quarterback. That’s true, but a mark but you got to understand that in all four Super Bowls that we won, it wasn’t like our suit. Our quarterbacks were like, you
Unknown Speaker 1:35:31
know, it wasn’t
Victor Arocho 1:35:33
me, I love Eli. But when it came to the game he played, I mean, he bled BP twice. So he played, but it wasn’t like our quarterbacks, you know, think about all our Super Bowls. You know, it wasn’t, you know, we weren’t lighting it up. I mean, look at Danny Fauci, Danny fells back and they was put up 42 guys
Unknown Speaker 1:35:53
always had a defense that kept the game kept the game. Exactly.
Unknown Speaker 1:35:57
Exactly.
Unknown Speaker 1:35:59
That the Giants that’s how giants used to play football.
Unknown Speaker 1:36:01
And we had a buffalo kicker.
Unknown Speaker 1:36:04
Yes, right. Right.
Victor Arocho 1:36:07
What is it? What do you call it by run when it goes right? When you click the ball, it goes to the it goes to the right side of field though is a
Unknown Speaker 1:36:18
wide, wide right why right? Thank you buffalo that now you understand why I said we had
Unknown Speaker 1:36:30
to remember that.
Unknown Speaker 1:36:34
I was born in 85. I’m not sure.
Victor Arocho 1:36:42
He doesn’t even know what eight millimeter is. But we were talking about oh, by the way, this show is dedicated to Mr. Bishop from our town. He passed away his kids were on show so we’re gonna get to that again. But his son happened to be the head coach later on in life in for a hometown football team. And we were talking about film like we were watching a film. I go, how was it? Because I remember I said I wasn’t even thinking it was Vic. We talked about, we don’t trade film. I got it on my iPad as soon as I walk out of the gate. And when we play you had to give that VHS? No, we didn’t even have VHS when I played. We had like four discs right for those cans. Yeah. Right. They had kids it was it was the reel to reel San Diego. They went to VHS.
Unknown Speaker 1:37:35
I know did what did? What a times.
Unknown Speaker 1:37:38
Yeah.
Unknown Speaker 1:37:40
And so again, like was that? That’s back when life was simple. It was simple. It
Victor Arocho 1:37:48
was simple. Was it simple when a coach didn’t want to give you your state?
Byron Jones 1:37:52
That’s how simple it is right here. Yeah, look at that there.
Victor Arocho 1:38:00

Regarding the Gary Sinise Foundation, by the way, Mark, you heard me say this before I start, I’ll tell you afterwards. freedom and security are precious gifts that we as Americans should never take for granted. We must do all we can to extend our hand and times of need to those who willingly sacrifice that freedom. Somebody of you provide that freedom. A Santiago who must do all we can to extend our hand in times of need to those who willingly sacrifice each day to provide that freedom of security. While we can never do enough to show gratitude to our nation’s defenders. We can always do a little more Gary Sinise. So that’s the Gary Sinise foundation that org please contribute. I want $150 and that $150 I’m donating to the Gary Sinise foundation. I would like to thank my co host, Byron Jones who served in the military.
