DeMarcus Lawrence is staying in Dallas. The veteran defensive end is signing a three-year, $30 million contract, according to CBS Sports NFL insiders Josina Anderson and Jason La Canfora. In the process, Lawrence becomes the first defensive end in NFL history to have seven seasons of his contract fully guaranteed. If Lawrence completes his current deal, he will have earned more than $130 million in Dallas.
A two-time Pro Bowler, Lawrence has spent his entire career with the Cowboys, who in 2014 made him the 34th overall pick in the NFL Draft. During his first eight seasons in Dallas, the soon-to-be 30-year-old has tallied 48.5 sacks, 17 forced fumbles and 74 tackles for loss. His best season was in 2017, when he recorded 14.5 sacks and four forced fumbles while earning the first of consecutive Pro Bowl nods.
