G League Ignite’s Scoot Henderson signs 7-figure deal with Puma

Scoot Henderson became one of the youngest ever professional basketball players in the United States when he signed a two-year deal with the NBA G League Ignite as a high school junior last year. Now he is making history again.

Henderson, 18, is signing an annual seven-figure, multi-year endorsement contract with Puma that is believed to be the richest deal ever for a non-draft-eligible basketball player, league sources tell The Athletic. Henderson’s deal has the ability to reach eight figures based on several factors, those sources said. This is the first time a shoe company has signed a contract with an Ignite player who is under contract. The Ignite was founded by the G League in 2020 as a developmental team for elite prospects.

Henderson will play a second consecutive season for the Ignite next season and is projected to be a potential top-three pick in the 2023 NBA Draft.
