The Patriots had both Joe Judge and Matt Patricia calling plays Thursday night and Bill Belichick won’t say whether he plans on picking one.
The preseason is often a time for experimentation, and on Thursday night the Patriots tried out having both Joe judge and Matt Patricia call plays in a 23-21 loss to the New York Giants in the preseason opener.
The Patriots have yet to name an offensive coordinator after Josh McDaniels left to coach the Oakland Raiders. Judge’s title is offensive assistant/quarterbacks coach. Patricia’s is senior football advisor/offensive line coach.
News story: Matt Patricia and Joe Judge share play-calling duties in Patriots’ preseason opener.
As for who calls plays in the regular season, Bill Belichick kept it to the point. “Don’t worry about that,” he said.https://t.co/gOkIXUVIUA
