The Miami Heat are trading Dewayne Dedmon and a second-round pick to the San Antonio Spurs, per Shams Charania. The move opens up two roster spots, providing added flexibility for further trades ahead of the Thursday deadline.
The big man averaged just under 6 points per game on 50 percent field goal shooting and just under 4 rebounds per contest this season. Although his presence off the bench benefitted the team, Miami needed to make room for potential acquisitions.
Dedmon will make his second stint with the Spurs, playing there in 2016-17. This was his third season with the Heat after the y acquired him from the Atlanta Hawks.

The Heat have traded Dewayne Dedmon and his salary to the San Antonio Spurs for a 2028 second-round pick. The move affords the Heat space under the luxury tax to sign a replacement for Dedmon and another player (or convert Orlando Robinson to a standard deal).
