Chelsea scored two goals in a match for the first time since Dec. 27 on Tuesday, beating Borussia Dortmund 2-0 at Stamford Bridge to advance to the quarterfinals of the Champions League at the German club’s expense.
The loss was Dortmund’s first of the calendar year.
Raheem Sterling notched the opener just before halftime with a fierce finish from inside the area, and a penalty from Kai Havertz after the interval – which was retaken because of encroachment after the German star struck the post on his first effort – lifted Graham Potter’s team to a 2-1 aggregate triumph.
