Sepp Straka didn’t set the PGA TOUR’s single-round record Sunday, but he did enough to prevail by two strokes over Brendon Todd and Alex Smalley at the John Deere Classic.
Straka was within striking distance of the all-time mark of 58 after draining birdies on four straight holes. But he then made par on Nos. 15, 16, and 17 before double-bogeying the final hole to finish at a career-low 62 for the day.
Todd was one shot back of Straka – the clubhouse leader – before bogeying No. 16 and making par on the final two holes.
