Ohio State head coach Ryan Day named Kyle McCord as the starting quarterback in Week 1 against Indiana, according to ESPN’s Adam Rittenberg.
McCord beat out sophomore Devin Brown for the starting role. Day said that Brown will also play in the season opener on Saturday.
“I think that Kyle has done a great job over the last two weeks of showing consistency,” Day said Tuesday, according to ON3’s Matt Connolly. “He’s played very well in practice. But Devin, also, throughout the body of the preseason, has shown that he deserves to play. So expect both of them to play. We have confidence in both of them.”
