Los Angeles Chargers wide receiver Mike Williams will miss the rest of the season after an MRI confirmed he tore his ACL, a source told NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.
Williams was carted to the locker room after being taken down awkwardly on a tackle in the third quarter of Sunday’s 28-24 victory over the Minnesota Vikings. He was ruled out shortly after.
The veteran wideout was off to the best start of his seven-year career. He averaged 83 yards and 6.3 receptions – both career highs. Williams also accumulated 19 catches for 249 yards and a touchdown.
