Seattle Seahawks safety Jamal Adams revealed Friday that he considered retiring after his latest injury.
“It was tough,” Adams said Friday, according to ESPN’s Brady Henderson. “I thought about retiring. I thought about a lot of things. Is this going to be it for me? I didn’t know. But I knew eventually, after I got that MRI, I told myself I’m going to be back. I didn’t know when or how, but I was going to figure it out.”
Adams suffered a season-ending torn left quadriceps tendon in Week 1 of the 2022 campaign. He’s set to return from the injury in Seattle’s Week 4 matchup against the New York Giants on Monday night.
The 27-year-old defender admitted that the ailment didn’t just impact his football career.
“I was in a dark place,” Adams said.
