Colorado scored the first 29 points against Stanford on Friday, but the Cardinal answered back with a second half for the ages and walked out of Boulder with a stunning 46-43 victory in double overtime.
Stanford, which lost four of five games to begin the season, left Folsom Field with the largest comeback in school history. Joshua Karty kicked the game-winning 31-yard field goal after tying the contest from 46 yards out at the end of regulation.
Colorado lost for the third time in four games after opening its campaign 3-0. The Buffaloes won only one game last season before Deion Sanders took over as head coach and instantly turned the team into appointment viewing.
