76ers star James Harden won’t play in season-opening road trip

James Harden returned to the Philadelphia 76ers’ facility for practice Wednesday ahead of their season-opening matchup against the Milwaukee Bucks on Thursday, sources told ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.

The 76ers are planning to ramp Harden up at their team facility in order to get him on the court following their opening two-game road trip against Milwaukee and the Toronto Raptors, Wojnarowski adds. Philadelphia’s first home game is Oct. 29 against the Portland Trail Blazers.

Harden had been away from the 76ers for 10 days prior to his return. He missed the franchise’s preseason finale and multiple practices, which left some doubt over his availability for the opener. Philadelphia previously said the veteran was away due to a personal matter.
