The New York Jets and running back Dalvin Cook mutually agreed to part ways, his agency told NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero.
The four-time Pro Bowler will now have the chance to join a playoff team ahead of the postseason. However, it’s uncertain how much interest Cook will get on the open market amid the worst season of his career.
The veteran has just 67 carries for 214 yards and zero touchdowns after signing a one-year contract worth $7 million with $5.8 million guaranteed. Cook restructured his deal to forfeit remaining guarantees, a source told ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
