Washington is expected to hire former New England Patriots assistant Steve Belichick as the school’s new defensive coordinator, sources told 247 Sports’ Matt Zenitz.
Belichick, 36, joined his father, Bill Belichick, as a member of the Patriots organization for 12 years. He served as a defensive assistant (2012-15), safeties coach (2016-18), secondary coach (2019), and outside linebacker coach (2020-23) during his tenure in New England.
