San Antonio Spurs rookie phenom Victor Wembanyama had one of the best games of his young career Monday, dropping 27 points, 14 rebounds, and 10 blocks in a dominant 122-99 victory over the Toronto Raptors.
The points-rebounds-blocks triple-double is the first of its kind since Atlanta Hawks big man Clint Capela achieved the feat in 2021. It’s the first ever from a player who made at least two 3-pointers in the contest.
Wembanyama’s masterful performance also marked just the fourth time a rookie has put up a blocks triple-double and the first since Hall of Famer David Robinson did so in 1990.
