Boxing star Ryan Garcia’s B samples came back positive for the performance-enhancing drug ostarine, matching two failed drug tests stemming from an April win over Devin Haney, according to boxing reporter Dan Rafael.
Garcia’s B samples were opened and analyzed Wednesday, and the results were returned Thursday morning.
Garcia tested positive for ostarine in prefight and postfight drug tests administered by the Voluntary Anti-Doping Association (VADA) in connection to his April 20 bout against Haney in Brooklyn. Garcia defeated Haney, the WBC junior welterweight champion, via majority decision after dropping him three times as a significant underdog. (Haney remained the champion because Garcia missed weight.)
