USA vs Guinee
The USA men’s soccer team beat Guinea 3-0 to reach the Olympic quarterfinals, marking the first time since 2000 they’ve reached the knockout rounds.
Marko Mitrovic’s side flew out of the traps in the first half in Saint-Etienne, as Djordje Mihailvoic scored a stunning free kick to make it 1-0.
Kevin Paredes then finished off a fine team move to make it 2-0 and the Wolfsburg winger grabbed a second in the second half to make it 3-0 and wrap up a comfortable win.
The victory means the USA will now face Morocco in a tasty quarterfinal at the Parc des Princes this Friday (9am ET kick off).
