The New York Yankees secured the American League’s No. 1 seed and home-field advantage through the ALCS after the Cleveland Guardians fell to the Houston Astros 4-3 on Saturday.
New York earned a bye to the ALDS, which is slated to begin on Oct. 5, and will play the winner of the Baltimore Orioles and Detroit Tigers/Kansas City Royals series.
The Guardians’ loss locks them into the No. 2 seed, one spot ahead of the Astros.
