The San Antonio Spurs will be without head coach Gregg Popovich indefinitely, ESPN’s Shams Charania reports.
The club announced Popovich won’t travel for its next two contests due to an undisclosed illness, according to Tom Orsborn of the San Antonio Express-News. The veteran coach is OK and just needs rest, a source told Orsborn.
Popovich missed Saturday’s 113-103 victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves. Assistant coach Mitch Johnson served in his place and is expected to stay in that role while Popovich is absent, per Charania.
