Joe Douglas, former general manager of the New York Jets, is returning to the Philadelphia Eagles in a senior scouting role. Douglas previously served as the Eagles’ VP of player personnel from 2016–2019 before taking the Jets GM position. His departure from the Jets follows a failed trade with Eagles GM Howie Roseman involving pass-rushers Haason Reddick and Bryce Huff — a move that disappointed both teams.
Douglas, credited with helping build the Eagles’ 2017 Super Bowl roster and a strong 2022 draft class with the Jets, was fired in late 2024 after a 32–68 record and no playoff appearances. His return to the Eagles was hinted at when he was seen with Roseman at a game shortly after his dismissal.
