Restricted free-agent forward Jonathan Kuminga rejected a two-year, $45-million contract offer from the Golden State Warriors, sources told ESPN’s Shams Charania and Anthony Slater.
Kuminga reportedly passed on the new deal largely because the Warriors insisted on a team option for the second season and weren’t willing to let him keep the no-trade clause that he’d be entitled to.
The former No. 7 overall pick and his agent have reportedly explored sign-and-trade scenarios, including significant negotiations with the Sacramento Kings and Phoenix Suns for close to $90 million over four years. Phoenix made the most lucrative offer, Charania and Slater report.
