Ryder Cup 2025: Meet Team USA’s 12 Golfers at Bethpage Black

Posted on September 25, 2025September 25, 2025 by Santiago Leon

The 2025 Ryder Cup heads to Bethpage Black in New York, and Team USA will bring a powerhouse lineup of 12 golfers ready to defend home soil. With world No. 1 Scottie Scheffler leading the way, the Americans feature a mix of seasoned Ryder Cup veterans, breakout stars, and inspiring comeback stories.

Below, meet the 12 golfers who will represent Team USA at the Ryder Cup 2025.

Scottie Scheffler (World No. 1)

  • Ryder Cup record: 2-2-3
  • Hometown: Dallas, Texas
  • College: Texas

Scheffler enters Bethpage Black as the favorite to be the weekend’s top points scorer. With six wins this year and an incredible streak of 15 consecutive top-eight finishes, he’s in the form of his career.

Russell Henley (World No. 3)

  • Ryder Cup record: Rookie
  • Hometown: Macon, Georgia
  • College: Georgia

Henley’s resurgence has been one of the season’s best stories. With two wins and nine additional top-10 finishes, he earned his Ryder Cup debut.

Xander Schauffele (World No. 4)

  • Ryder Cup record: 4-4-0
  • Hometown: San Diego, California
  • College: San Diego State

Though winless this season, Schauffele has been consistently steady, making every cut since 2022 and contending in three majors. His match-play record makes him a valuable asset.

Justin Thomas (World No. 5)

  • Ryder Cup record: 7-4-2
  • Hometown: Louisville, Kentucky
  • College: Alabama

Thomas thrives in Ryder Cup pressure. After returning to form with a win and three runner-ups this year, he looks primed to deliver once again for Team USA.

J.J. Spaun (World No. 6)

  • Ryder Cup record: Rookie
  • Hometown: Los Angeles, California
  • College: San Diego State

Spaun had a breakout season highlighted by a U.S. Open victory with a dramatic 64-foot walk-off putt. He brings grit and momentum into his Ryder Cup debut.

Collin Morikawa (World No. 8)

  • Ryder Cup record: 4-3-1
  • Hometown: Los Angeles, California
  • College: UC Berkeley

Morikawa has proven clutch on U.S. soil, going 3-0-1 at Whistling Straits in 2021. This season he added two runner-ups and remains one of Team USA’s most reliable ball strikers.

Harris English (World No. 10)

  • Ryder Cup record: 1-2-0
  • Hometown: Thomasville, Georgia
  • College: Georgia

English enters with five PGA Tour wins and a steady 2025 campaign that included two runner-ups at majors. He was part of the victorious 2021 squad.

Ben Griffin (World No. 11)

  • Ryder Cup record: Rookie
  • Hometown: Chapel Hill, North Carolina
  • College: UNC

Griffin’s journey from nearly quitting golf to winning twice this season makes him one of the most inspiring Team USA stories. Now he’ll get his first Ryder Cup start.

Cameron Young (World No. 20)

  • Ryder Cup record: Rookie
  • Hometown: Scarborough, New York
  • College: Wake Forest

Young finally broke through with a PGA Tour win this season, adding eight top-10s. With the Ryder Cup being played in his home state, expect big support from the New York crowd.

Bryson DeChambeau (World No. 21)

  • Ryder Cup record: 2-3-1
  • Hometown: Modesto, California
  • College: SMU

The only LIV Golf representative, DeChambeau has been strong in majors with three top-10 finishes. His length off the tee will be a major weapon at Bethpage Black.

Patrick Cantlay (World No. 22)

  • Ryder Cup record: 5-2-1
  • Hometown: Long Beach, California
  • College: UCLA

Cantlay may be winless in three years, but his consistency and strong Ryder Cup record make him a cornerstone of Team USA.

Sam Burns (World No. 23)

  • Ryder Cup record: 1-2-0
  • Hometown: Shreveport, Louisiana
  • College: LSU

Burns comes in with 16 consecutive cuts made and leads the PGA Tour in strokes gained putting—a skill that could prove decisive on Bethpage’s greens.

What to Expect from Team USA at the Ryder Cup 2025

With a mix of experienced Ryder Cup veterans like Justin Thomas, Xander Schauffele, and Patrick Cantlay alongside talented rookies like Russell Henley, J.J. Spaun, Ben Griffin, and Cameron Young, Team USA looks both balanced and dangerous.

Playing in front of a passionate New York crowd at Bethpage Black, the Americans are set to bring energy, firepower, and confidence into the weekend.
