The Pittsburgh Steelers are still awaiting word from Aaron Rodgers regarding his future, with no expectation of a decision from the quarterback before Thursday’s NFL draft, according to Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero of NFL Network.
As the Steelers continue to wait to hear from the 42-year-old, Will Howard will enter minicamp as QB1 under new head coach Mike McCarthy.
McCarthy said in March that he hoped Rodgers would return because “it’d be a great story.” McCarthy coached Rodgers on the Green Bay Packers from 2006-18.
Steelers owner Art Rooney II said late last month that he expected to have an answer from Rodgers ahead of the draft, although the signal-caller has noted the organization didn’t give him a deadline for a decision.
