The Golden State Warriors appear to be eyeing some monumental moves in pursuit of another title.
Draymond Green declining his $27.7-million player option Monday is a decision designed to give Golden State added flexibility to both pursue a trade for Anthony Davis and chase LeBron James in free agency, sources told ESPN’s Shams Charania.
Green will now become an unrestricted free agent beginning June 30, but he could be re-signed after the Warriors make other moves to bolster the roster. With Jimmy Butler certain to be a part of any trade involving the acquisition of a max contract, Golden State seems to be taking a run at a Big 4 of superstars in James, Davis, Green, and Stephen Curry.
