Philadelphia 76ers Roster Salary Cap, Pending Free Agents and Team Options After Jaylen Brown Trade

Posted on July 2, 2026July 2, 2026 by Santiago Leon

The Philadelphia 76ers have completely reshaped their roster entering the 2026-27 NBA season following one of the biggest trades in franchise history. After acquiring Jaylen Brown to join Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey, the Sixers now boast one of the league’s most expensive star trios while balancing a roster filled with young talent, veterans and several team-controlled contracts.

With the NBA offseason underway, here’s a look at the Philadelphia 76ers roster, salary cap situation, pending free agents and team options.

Philadelphia 76ers salary cap outlook

The Sixers have invested heavily in their championship core. Joel Embiid, Jaylen Brown and Tyrese Maxey combine for more than $155 million in salary for the 2026-27 season, putting Philadelphia among the NBA’s highest payrolls.

Despite the sizable financial commitment, the front office has maintained flexibility through rookie-scale contracts, team options and partially guaranteed deals that could prove valuable in future roster moves.

  • Jabari Walker
  • Dalen Terry

The organization will have to decide whether to retain these role players or use the available roster spots to pursue outside talent in free agency.

Philadelphia 76ers team options

One of Philadelphia’s strengths is the number of young players still under team control.

The rookie guard is signed through 2028-29, with team options for both the 2027-28 and 2028-29 seasons before becoming a restricted free agent.

Labaron Philon Jr.

Philadelphia holds team options for both the 2028-29 and 2029-30 seasons, giving the organization long-term flexibility with the young guard.

Edwards is under contract for 2026-27, while the Sixers own a team option for the 2027-28 campaign.

Adem Bona

Bona’s contract includes a non-guaranteed salary for 2026-27 along with a non-guaranteed team option for the 2027-28 season.

Non-guaranteed and partially guaranteed contracts

The Sixers also have several contracts that offer additional salary flexibility.

  • Dean Wade: Final season (2029-30) is partially guaranteed.
  • Jabari Walker: Only $250,000 guaranteed until Jan. 10, 2027.
  • Dalen Terry: Non-guaranteed until Jan. 10, 2027.
  • Adem Bona: 2026-27 salary is non-guaranteed until July 7, with a non-guaranteed team option for 2027-28.
  • Johni Broome: 2027-28 contract is non-guaranteed, while his 2028-29 team option is also non-guaranteed.

Philadelphia’s championship core remains intact

The Sixers are fully committed to competing for an NBA championship around their three All-Star-caliber players.

Joel Embiid remains under contract through at least the 2028-29 season, Jaylen Brown is signed through 2028-29 following his blockbuster arrival in Philadelphia, and Tyrese Maxey is locked in through the same season.

With a star-powered roster, multiple young players on team-controlled contracts and financial flexibility through several non-guaranteed deals, Philadelphia enters the 2026-27 season positioned to contend in the Eastern Conference while maintaining options for future roster upgrades.
