Arizona Cardinals director of college scouting Ryan Gold is appealing his indefinite suspension for violating the NFL’s gambling policy, his attorney said Sunday.
“Ryan Gold has been an outstanding NFL executive for over a decade,” Gold’s attorney, Mike Caspino, told ESPN’s Adam Schefter. “The accusations made by the league regarding his participation in prohibited gambling activities are blatantly false. We have demanded an appeal, and we look forward to clearing his good name.”
Caspino told Schefter that Gold’s wife has been making $10 weekly bets on parlays and that Gold was not involved. Caspino also stated that Gold could not have provided draft pick information because only Cardinals owner Michael Bidwell and general manager Monti Ossenfort knew who has going to be selected.
