NBA free agency has slowed considerably following LeBron James’ decision to sign with the Philadelphia 76ers, but several notable names remain available as teams continue to finalize their rosters for the 2026-27 season.
While many of the league’s biggest stars have already found homes, a handful of impact veterans and young talents are still waiting for their next contracts.
James Harden, Draymond Green Expected to Stay Put
Two of the biggest names technically still on the free-agent market are James Harden and Draymond Green, though both are widely expected to re-sign with their current teams.
Harden declined his $42 million player option with the Cleveland Cavaliers earlier this offseason. The move was believed to provide Cleveland with additional financial flexibility while the franchise pursued LeBron James, who ultimately chose to sign with the Philadelphia 76ers instead.
Now that James is off the market, Harden is expected to finalize a long-term contract to remain in Cleveland.
Green took a similar approach with the Golden State Warriors, declining his $27 million player option to create additional cap flexibility during the team’s pursuit of James.
Although Golden State had enough room to offer James the full $15 million mid-level exception, the four-time NBA champion instead agreed to a two-year, $8 million contract with Philadelphia, effectively ending the Warriors’ pursuit.
With James off the board, Green is expected to quickly return to Golden State on a new deal.
