Real Madrid Reports Record $1.39 Billion in Revenue as Bernabéu Continues Financial Transformation

Posted on July 29, 2026July 29, 2026 by Santiago Leon

Real Madrid has once again cemented its place as the financial powerhouse of world sports, reporting a record $1.39 billion in revenue during the 2025-26 season. The figure represents a 3.1% increase compared to the previous fiscal year and marks the highest annual revenue ever recorded by a professional sports franchise.

The Spanish giants also posted a record $327 million in EBITDA (Earnings Before Interest, Taxes, Depreciation, and Amortization), highlighting the club’s continued financial strength and operational efficiency.

Santiago Bernabéu Continues to Drive Growth

One of the biggest contributors to Real Madrid’s financial success continues to be the renovated Santiago Bernabéu Stadium.

According to the club’s financial report:

  • Stadium revenue increased 11% year-over-year.
  • The Bernabéu now generates more than twice the revenue it produced before its extensive renovation project.

The modernized stadium has become much more than a football venue. Throughout the year, it hosts concerts, entertainment events, premium hospitality experiences, corporate functions, and expanded retail operations, allowing Real Madrid to earn revenue even when the team is not playing.

This diversified business model has transformed the Bernabéu into one of the world’s most valuable sports and entertainment assets.

Commercial Business Remains Among the World’s Best

Beyond matchday income, Real Madrid continues to benefit from one of the strongest commercial portfolios in global sports.

Revenue streams include:

  • Global sponsorship agreements
  • Merchandise sales
  • Licensing partnerships
  • International marketing initiatives
  • Digital media growth
  • Premium hospitality offerings

The club’s worldwide fan base allows it to monetize its brand across virtually every major market, making it one of the most commercially successful organizations in sports.

Record EBITDA Reflects Strong Financial Health

Real Madrid also announced a record $327 million EBITDA, demonstrating that revenue growth is translating into strong operating profitability.

EBITDA is widely used to measure a company’s core operating performance because it excludes financing and accounting-related expenses. A record EBITDA indicates the club is generating significant cash flow from its day-to-day operations.

That financial flexibility provides Real Madrid with additional resources to:

  • Invest in player acquisitions
  • Improve infrastructure
  • Expand commercial partnerships
  • Continue stadium enhancements
  • Support long-term strategic growth

Bernabéu Investment Paying Off

The redevelopment of the Santiago Bernabéu has been one of the largest infrastructure investments in European football.

While construction required substantial capital over several years, the financial results now suggest the investment is paying significant dividends. With stadium revenue more than doubling compared to pre-renovation levels, Real Madrid has created a year-round business that extends well beyond football matches.

The venue is increasingly viewed as a multi-purpose entertainment destination capable of generating revenue every week of the year.

Real Madrid Continues to Lead Global Sports Business

Real Madrid’s latest financial results reinforce its position as one of the most valuable and financially successful sports organizations in the world.

Generating $1.39 billion in annual revenue, alongside record operating earnings and continued growth from the transformed Santiago Bernabéu, demonstrates the club’s ability to combine on-field success with world-class business operations.

As football clubs increasingly compete both on and off the pitch, Real Madrid continues to set the benchmark for commercial excellence and financial sustainability.
