The Laver Cup is an annual men’s tennis team competition featuring Team Europe against Team World.
Each team consists of six players. Team Europe is made up of players representing European countries, while Team World features players from countries outside Europe.
The competition includes both singles and doubles matches.
How Does the Laver Cup Scoring Work?
Unlike a traditional tennis tournament, the value of each victory increases as the weekend progresses.
Friday victories are worth one point each, Saturday victories are worth two points each, and Sunday victories are worth three points each.
The first team to reach 13 points wins the Laver Cup.
This scoring system makes Sunday particularly important because the higher point value gives teams an opportunity to make a late comeback.
