The Dallas Cowboys and Detroit Lions are among the teams that have inquired about the availability of Pittsburgh Steelers cornerback Joey Porter Jr., sources told ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
Pittsburgh is open to listening to trade proposals for Porter but wants significant compensation to move him, Schefter adds.
Porter and the Steelers have been involved in a contract dispute since the start of the offseason. The fourth-year cornerback wants a new deal, but the two sides couldn’t agree on terms by the franchise’s self-imposed deadline of its Week 1 game. Pittsburgh traditionally doesn’t hold contract talks once the season begins, leading to rumors of a possible split.
