Both players are expected to miss the preseason contest, although their availability has not been officially confirmed.
Is Paul George Playing Tonight vs. 76ers?
Paul George is not expected to play against the Philadelphia 76ers on October 10, 2026.
George is reportedly unlikely to suit up as Boston continues managing his preseason workload and recovery.
The veteran forward also missed Boston’s October 8 preseason matchup against the Cleveland Cavaliers.
While his absence has not been officially confirmed, the Celtics could continue taking a cautious approach with George ahead of the regular season.
Is Jayson Tatum Playing Tonight vs. 76ers?
Jayson Tatum is also expected to sit out Saturday’s preseason game against Philadelphia.
The Celtics star missed the team’s October 8 preseason game against Cleveland and is reportedly unlikely to participate in the October 10 matchup.
Boston appears to be prioritizing Tatum’s recovery and preparation for the upcoming regular season rather than rushing him into preseason action.
His official playing status remains subject to confirmation before tipoff.

Why Are Paul George and Jayson Tatum Not Playing?
The NBA preseason gives teams an opportunity to evaluate younger players, experiment with rotations and manage the workloads of established veterans.
For Boston, limiting George and Tatum’s minutes could help preserve their health ahead of the regular season.
Their expected absences also provide opportunities for other Celtics players to earn additional playing time and compete for rotation spots.
Neither player’s reported absence should automatically be interpreted as a setback or an indication that he will miss regular-season games.
