Here’s what to know before first pitch.
What Time Is the Baseball Game Today?
The Rays and Guardians play at 8:00 p.m. Eastern on TBS, according to the official MLB postseason schedule.
| Game details | Schedule |
|---|---|
| Matchup | Tampa Bay Rays at Cleveland Guardians |
| Date | Friday, October 16, 2026 |
| First pitch | 8:00 p.m. ET / 5:00 p.m. PT |

Why Does Game 4 Matter?
Cleveland enters with a 2–1 series lead. A Guardians victory would put them one win from the American League pennant, while Tampa Bay can pull the series even.
That makes this a pivotal night for both teams: Cleveland has an opportunity to take control, and the Rays have a chance to turn the remaining series into a best-of-three contest.
Why Do Some Listings Show an Earlier Start?
Earlier information listed a 6:00 p.m. Eastern start. MLB’s Game 4 preview explained that a Milwaukee sweep would move first pitch to 8:00 p.m.
For tonight’s viewing plans, use the updated 8:00 p.m. Eastern start time.
